Game is so lame you have to use mods to just rebind keys

I check in every now and then to see if they ever fix key binds in game. Nope. Years later and it's still not fixed. Lame

Most keys have been re-bindable for years now, without mods. I don't use them at all, and I've had few-if-any issues on that front.

It's only certain ones that haven't been given that ability (I think), though I don't know more than that, fwiw.

I can't rebind the E key or the middle mouse button.

Two that are part of the latter category I mentioned, IIRC. But I did say 'most' keys were re-bindable, not 'all'.

You can actually rebind middle mouse, but only to another mouse button, you can't rebind it to a key

Yep, and if you have a gaming mouse (more than 3 buttons) you can't use any of the additional buttons. Would be nice to play EDSF and rebind stuff to the thumb buttons.

This, I had to refund for like, 2 years (bought it 2 years ago, refunded, etc.) cuz I couldn't rebind it to a keyboard key.

Kindly get bent. I'm left handed. I've used IJKL as my movement keys for over a decade in dozens of games with no issues. Factorio and Captain of Industry let me rebind the more-or-less same function the E key does. I have to use AHK to fake E presses with U, where I want it. It's beyond dumb that we can't just change it.

It's weird. My guess was that perhaps at one time E was "E(xit) to menu" and they tried to be smart by preventing people from soft-locking themselves by assigning away the exit key and that that "feature" somehow stuck around when another key became the exit one...
I guess bug report form is the best hope of getting it fixed...
