How to unlock conveyor belts and sorters.

I'm stuck early on and can't figure out how to get conveyor belts and sorters. Can someone point me in the right direction?

For that, you need Circuit Boards and Gear. Dismantling the arrival capsule gives you a small amount of Circuit Boards and Magnetic Coils (among other things), but Gear need to be made by hand initially.

Basically 1) mine 10 Iron Ore by hand or mining machine, 2) use replicator to make 10 Iron Ingots, and 3) then those 10 Ingots make 10 Gear. That should give you the materials needed to research the belt/sorter tech, last I checked.

And if you missed the tutorial narration; to actually assign the research you need to:
* Open up the research page - using the T key
* Queue up "Electromagnetism" (which will get you wind turbine, mining machine, tesla tower)
* Queue up "Basic Logistics System"
* Make sure you didn't uncheck the box "research from inventory"

Once you've finished researching basic logistics system you get the ability to make the base level belts and sorters

If the research isn't occurring check that you
1) Left the "research from inventory" checkbox checked.
2) That you have the necessary items in your inventory
3) That you didn't accidently click the pause button next to the research queue (on the top left of the normal view)
