Imho, length of time spent in EA doesn't really matter in the end, nor does 1.0 tbh - as the game was a year ago if not longer, it could've been considered complete then, in terms of content; 1.0 or release numbers =/= indication of completeness. For an AAA game, maybe, but indie games have a much broader definition of such things.
So let them make the game they want at their own pace. They've consistently delivered high-quality content since it came out, so I feel they've earned that leeway.
That said, factorio's expansion just came out and launching rocket was changed to early game, now your logistical issues is making space platform(s) then conquering other planets and I'm damn interested how it goes.
IMO launching the rocket is when the game begins.
Likely yes, but considering its review scores i'm surprised they haven't already tbh. Your second point though is less likely. Any good developer knows the value of player feedback.
its funny how you said that the exact same day the space age expansion was added to factorio. you know it adds like 4 other planets right? launching the rocket is only the beginning at this point (bc the expansion takes way longer to beat than the base game)
Personally, I'm wary of playing a game and then have an(other) update complete upend my game.
