What does space dark force hive "core destroyed" mean?
What does space dark force hive "core destroyed" mean? I can't find the dark fog anywhere in the system. Does that mean the dark fog is still hiding somewhere in space in the system stealing critical photons? Also, ever since the recent update that displays "Goals", I can't replicate anything manually and I have to depend on my factories to make anything... Of couse, if I play the game without mods, it works fine. But I really need mods, especially the LSTM mod to play this game because I don't have a photographic memory.

it means that the core (the thing providing the energy) is destroyed for the space one the space station will run out of energy (it will be helpless and you can destroy it from there) and will not repair itself as long as there are no planetary bases I hoped this helped

The audio announcement of "core destroyed" just means you just killed the central part of the space hive.

The text "core destroyed" remaining on screen on the top left means that while you killed the central part of the space hive there are other dark fog space assets from that hive which survive. (That might be remaining structures of the hive, it might be orbital relays over planetary bases -- which can return and rebuild the hive, it might mean orbital relays that were on their way to start a new or returning from a destroyed base, etc.) Once you kill the final space asset from that hive the message should disappear.

(Note, if you haven't enabled the 'attack orbital relay' checkbox it's entirely possible to be sitting right next to one in the rubble of the otherwise destroyed hive and the message won't clear because your fleet won't kill it)

I've been puzzled by this, too. Is there any way to see the hive structures that remain? I destroyed the hive (or intended to) around the O-star system in which I'm building a Dyson sphere and, as far as I can see, all planetary bases in this system.

If it doesn't list any space hives in the top left and for each planet you land on doesn't list planet bases either in the top left, then except for incoming seeds the system should be clean.

it means it's mocking you that they'll just return and start deploying their hive again to harass your planet
