Are there hidden technologies in the tech tree?
For one how do you even craft those machines that require dark fog items and even when you have those how do you craft them ? does that tech automatically unlock? And i saw someone on youtube he had a different looking tech tree than mine. maybe mods?
anyhow thanks!

There are a few; the items that unlock them are dropped by the Dark Fog at high levels (ie, lvl 15/18/21/24), and then they need Dark Fog matrices to research (which drop starting at lvl 12, but can't be used till the aforementioned techs are visible).

There's also a new hidden Upgrade from last patch, which becomes visible after researching a certain blue/red matrix tech, but that's hard to miss.

As for the Youtube thing, how recent/old was the video? Because if it's the latter, the game's (full) tech tree has changed a few times over the years.

There's a page on the wiki about the hidden dark fog research in the tech tree:

wait, what?? Sheesh, whenever I think I have everything about this game figured out, something like this comes up :lunar2019laughingpig: Hahaha love it. Was about to wipe off the whole dark fog from my universe for good, but I guess I go fatten one system up now!

Hehe, you're welcome.

Though I should add, all the hidden items unlocked by said techs require the aforementioned Dark Fog items to produce as well. So if you want any appreciable amount of those unlocked items, you'll need to keep that "fattened system" alive for awhile XD

Yeeah did not know any of this good to know! Thanks! do you happen to know what the Digital Analog Computation does? does it replace matrixlab? which becomes obsolete at the end anyway.

Yes, researching it gives you the ability to build the Self-evolution Lab[dsp-wiki.com]; which replaces the Matrix Lab -- producing (or consuming) matrixes at triple the rate of the original matrix lab (though requiring 4 times as much power)

If you'd clicked on the icon in the "Unlocks" column" of the Hidden Technologies table it would have taken you to the page for the item the research gives you access to.

But unless the darkfog start in your system which in my case they dont the point i reach them i will already have white cubes so in my case there is no need for this tech.

That depends on how far you want to go into infinite research.

Using this tech I can squeeze 9000/min white cube production onto a single world; using 4 copies of my 2250/min blueprint updated to use all the new DF buildings -- which is helpful if I want to get a steady research rate of over a million hashes/min. (You still need like 7 of those planets to achieve that research rate)

But yes, if your research goals are more reasonable and you encounter (and level up) the Dark Fog late then these new buildings aren't likely to be useful to you.

The Research tree is finite so how can there be infinite research? To be honest i just play the game and dont do any maths at all xD and hashes/min could not bore me more! lol

The Research Tree is, yes. But plenty of white-science Upgrades have an infinity symbol appear after the first time, and so can be researched again and again for increasing costs until you choose otherwise.

Some have pre-established limits, like lvl 75/100/etc, yet the others are functionally infinite for all intents and purposes (they hard-stop at lvl 10,000 in the code, IIRC).

kk i will checkkk that out when im at the white cube. Where can i see my hash rate? do i click on the matrix lab? i just cannot find it!

Wait, you have a seed that doesn't have Dark Fog on the starting planet? Please share!

(or whatever you did to avoid having to fight them while getting even blue science off the ground)

When on the technology/upgrades screen, the current-researching tech should display it, IIRC. Though in my experience, what hashes mainly tell you is "how fast will these labs consume my matrices when researching this tech", with bigger equaling faster and vice-versa

@Umop-apisdn In the Dark Fog settings, Initial Occupation dictates how expansive they are across the systems; the seeds themselves have nothing to do with that, per se. 100%-and-above is guaranteed to have them on your starting planet, while 25-50% have a lower chance of that occurring (though it still can happen) - 1% is guaranteed to not have them anywhere near the starter system for awhile.

Sure thing. I like playing the game so that eventually the "Aliens" Enter my solar system with their seed ship. With this setup it takes long though after 25hours the first seed ship got sent of! Maybe up some settings like Growth speed!?

In my case i got luckkk then with 50% occupation they are not in my solar system.
