State of the game pr. today?
I have this game on my radar as the next to play after my recent run in Factorio. How is the state of the game?? I know it is in EA and I bought it when it was released on Steam. I have waited a long time for it to be more playable. Your opinions?

It was fully playable for a long time, recently they have added first part of combat update and it's not bad either, lacking space combat but it will come eventually (should be this year).

Absolutely playable for hundreds of hours. This is not a run of the mill EA title.

It certainly has enough for dozens or even hundreds of hours, depending on how much you want to get done. It stays engaging the entire way.

Edit: Also, from what I played (before the Dark Fog update), I don't remember it ever crashing, and didn't notice any gameplay bugs. There was never a "this feature is bugged, use this workaround" situation.

It's been very playable since release, not really sure what you've been waiting for specifically. I'd say it was about 70% feature complete on release and now it's about 95% that last 5% is space combat I reckon and then all it really needs after that is a few performance tuning passes and a couple tweaks here and there.

Without Dark fog (combat), It have been playable for many many years.
I do consider Dark Fog EA, and it still have some work to do, but honestly i'm not sure it's adding to the game, and i'm considering playing without it.

The game is perfect without DF. It's a perfect game.
The thing with steam comment sectionis, its mostly a bunch of negative trolls.

Everything is bad. Only what streamers play is awseome bla bla.

This game has been playable for ever. Itt changes. Stuff gets added. But i never experienced a patch that full killed the game. This works realley good.

1000 hours in game, always been more playable than alot of more pricey or AAA titles.
the New update with combat is the least fleshed out with the space combat and structures coming in the next major update.... But id recommend this more than any other game in my libary

For me after more than 100 hours spent on the last playthrough and when it's time for the last fun part where you start building the dyson sphere and producing ♥♥♥♥ ton of the last science tier the game start giving me errors and sometimes crash I keep loading before the error but it keeps coming back, its becoming unplayable. This is not the first time it happened to me, one or two years ago on my old PC it happened also and I remember just giving up, I hoped the promised big update would fix that with the fun stuff but it didn't.

I've got over 1,600 hours in the game and never experienced that, the game is really very stable.

Do you use mods?

What sort of specs are you running the game on?
alcaboom Feb 15, 2024 @ 5:20pm
No mods, I never used mods for this game. As for the game settings I tried everything, though there isn't much options there except maybe for the threads count which also didn't change anything for me even the fps doesn't change much from changing the settings around 1-5 fps difference I think. My current PC specs are 13900k, 4090, 96G RAM.

It's a fantastic automation game. Probably the best I've played. I just play until I make the dyson sphere as my "winning the game". I don't play with the combat/fog stuff because as a chill and relaxing game, that kinda defeats the purpose. Hopefully they'll add more non-combat related stuff sometime. If not, I got my moneys worth out of it and I look forward to whatever they make next. Maybe a sequel.
