Is Kimberlite Ore really that good?

Seems like it just replaces the graphite needed to make diamonds, but graphite/coal is pretty abundant to begin with.

You are spending a decent amount of coal on Plastic and Red Science. So off loading diamond to Kimberlite for a while, is not a bad idea.

Since you unlock real spaceflight with purple science all those specials´re weak? So expect a different ressoucrce pattern once the game gets in the final release stages?
I think they made a good job for early access.

Personally, with one Dyson sphere almost complete, I find any ore that lets me skip even one smelting/production step a big advantage. Once the quantities keep stacking up it's nice if there are less places where to look for bottlenecks.
