Might be worth sticking this in the "dark fog needs a rework" thread as some good ideas in there too.
Might also be worth posting to the discord as the devs don't/cant engage here.
The new star system didn't have Dark Fog. However, I noticed one Seed travel to my star system where I tried to establish a new base. It is still far away (about 14 lightyears away), but I would like a building or satellite that rings an alarm the moment it detects a Seed entering the star system.
Also, the stealthy of the Dark Fog is kind of well-known to me. In the starting system, I was trying to build the planetary shield on the last planet. I do have about 10 of the planetary shields with me, but I notice that it tries to build the planetary base 2 times in 30 minutes. The first one I noticed because the relay station flying above my head so I followed it and destroyed the base without issue. The second one, I noticed after I built all of the planetary shields. It tried to build the plasma turret but I did destroy it just before it was complete.
I was playing normal Dark Fog. I didn't know it could establish the planetary bases that quickly.
