There are some limits through:
* You've got to be within range (which starts off pretty short and you have to research up to covering the entire planet -- but still won't help if you've building on a different world)
* You've got to set up Icarus' logistics sidebar for which items you want the bots to handle and how many to (try to) keep in inventory
* You have to set up a lot of infrastructure to make this work; assemblers building the items have to delivery them to a storage box; you need the logistics distributor atop it, it needs to have bots assigned; and the bots can only move a single item type from each distributor.
The exact opposite of the Dyson Sphere building limits.
also normally it is your factory crafting your stuff, not you, it is too complicate to ask your robot to do that, better to let your factory managing that
Are you saying i should have machines making all of the building pieces and i just go fill my inventory with them? Im still learning how i should be playing this game. Im currently trying to make it efficient and pretty but i dont think thats the way to go
For new players, that is good enough. But for experience player, they make factories that make the building itself, have the Bot delivered it to you, and you will have a building ready to be place right away without replicating anything.
Hand crafting all that would take years.
You don't need much 1 mark 1 assembler for each building outputting to a storage limited to a handful of slots is enough for almost every building.
it is easier than asking your robot to craft stuff and it is also faster, so with that you can spam factories
but then dont you constantly have to go get stuff from the box?
or try to cheat the system and bring your box and drop the content on the ground o in another box
i think a box can contain 3000 assembler
it also working with interstellar logistic, just pick up and drop it on the ground when you reach the planet you want to build new industry
However there are a couple of workaround that minimize that time.
First, certain objects can be accessed and items in them picked up or dropped off from anywhere on the planet; no need to walk over. Those are:
* Logistics Distributors (sit atop a storage box)
* Planetary Logistics Stations
* Interstellar Logistics Stations
So if you store output of the assembler(s) in one of those the no need to go over there; simply scroll over, select the building, and grab as much of the stored items as you want.
Second, the game has an Distribution Logistics System[dsp-wiki.com] - which combines the aforementioned Logistic Distributors with Logistics Bots and a logistics sidebar within Icarus' inventory screen. Through those you can have the game automatically fly replacement items out to Icarus.
Want to always have 2000 belts, 200 sorters, 50 assemblers, 50 smelters, and 50 tesla towers in your inventory? No problem - it can do that*. As soon as you drop below the threshold you configured logistic bots will take off from their distributor carrying replacement buildings right to you. Automate production and delivery and never think about it again [G]
---
* Offer only valid on the planet with the logistics distributor, and while within bot range of said distributor.
man... i have a lot to discover in this game
This is not my first rodeo with factory games
