lol, no. the day/night cycle is caused by planet spin, and part of the gameplay to reduce the effectiveness of your light/ray powered structures. What you might want is Tidal locking planet, where one side is always lit. there are seeds that gives you easy access to that.

There was a mod that gave you a light as bright as the Sunlight, but alas it was broken with the latest release. And no way to contact the developer.
Edit: And this mod was fixed shortly after I posted this.

I'm not sure what idiot decided way back that day/night cycles would be cool... Obviously someone with no visual impairments! I've seen them in several games and all it does for me is to make the game unplayable for half of the cycle... If you want to incorporate this ridiculous feature for those that want it (a minority, I'm sure) then either give us the option to turn it off or to at least a setting to skip ahead in time in the game past where we CAN'T DO ANYTHING! :steamsalty:

Not everyone experiences this issue, and I say that as someone without perfect eyesight. The "nightlight" helps considerably. On my system, pressing L toggles it on or off.

The solutions currently include "get a mod" and "buy a better monitor". It is not the devs' fault your monitor is dim or lacking in contrast.
