Defending Supply Lines
Hi guys! I'm still very early on into my first combat runthrough but I have a few questions.

1) How do you efficiently protect your supply lines (long distance conveyor belts porting in resources) and power generation ( wind turbines over water)?

Its easy to put down turrets to protect power generation hubs and my main production facilities because the turret range is pretty decent, but beyond that it sucks having to manually fly icarus over the water just to protect 10-15 turbines that are defenseless.

2) Do early attacks drop resources from the attack bots they send when I kill them or is that only later harder difficulty waves?

The signal tower is a building that draws the threat of the dark fog. also the enemy tend to send waves from the same location

From the enemies, you can acquire the following depending on the level of the Planetary Base:

Level 0+
Log
Plant Fuel
Iron Ingot
Copper Ingot
Stone Brick
Magnet

Level 3+
High-purity Silicon
Energetic Graphite
Steel
Glass
Prism
Gear
Magnetic Coil
Circuit Board
Engine

I have not yet encountered enemies beyond that _and_ there could be other resources on the above lists which I have yet to acquire. Note that you may have to have a Battlefield Analysis Base deployed to collect the items that remain once the enemies are destroyed.

Ah wonderful, thank you! Hopefully the tech isn't too far down the line!

ooooh ok great! I kinda figured the loot scaled with the base level and game progression. I'm almost ready to unlock the battlefield analysis base so we'll see if that picks up the materials for me!

If you press 'z'. it will add a pickup / drop filter icon just above your heath/shield and energy bars at the bottom of the screen. There are two tabs available once you toggle the icon -- a "pick up" tab that shows those items known to you and a "dark fog drop" tab that lists those items you have gather based on the enemy's level. There are nine item tiers -- 0+, 3+, 6+, 9+, 12+, 15+, 18+, 21+ and 24+.

I am not sure if the tiers are mutually exclusive or additive -- I suspect that it would make more sense for them to be additive and as such a level 4 enemy could drop any item from its tier and all below it.

My enemies are level 11 and they still drop everything; I'm still getting a lot of iron, glass, copper, graphite, etc. You do have to research the item for it to drop; they won't drop processors for example until they are researched. Then when you do, and hit Z and check the dark fog drop list, and it will be shown there if they are high enough level to drop it.
