Clearing rocks and trees?
is there a quicker way to do this

Drag rows of constructors over them. You can increase their spacing with +/- keys and then clear them off with the mode that lets you drag the red eraser around (no need to click each building).

The same thing works for farming soil.

If you do not require the resources, you can just build over them.

Otherwise, I believe that there is (or was) a mod which had your drones collect the resources in a range around Icarus.
