What I'm referring to is memory stability. The system can't handle the memory error and just shuts down.
No overclocks.
My build uses 550w of power at max load, power supply is 750w 80+ bronze, at 75% its the limit from the build with a few extra Watts.
Its not memory, i play Tarkov and Star Citizen, both top the usage of ram of my 32gb.
Both games use more memory, CPU and all 3 games use 99% of video card.
Games tested, as of now, that i can play much more time with no issues: Mass Effect Legendary Edition, Escape from Tarkov, Star Citizen, Skull and Bones, Battlebit Remastered. All this game i tested with 2+ hours of game sessions (this are the more demanding games, i have other less demanding too that i have no problems). While Dyson i can play a max of 30 minutes before it shuts down my pc.
My build is 7800x3d, Asus Prime x670p-wifi, 32gb 6000mhz XPG (Adata) RAM, AMD Asrock RX6750XT.
Skull and bones....
Skull & Bones/Initial release date
16 February 2024
Skull and bones is in a Closed Beta this weekend, you can play for 6 hours from 15 to 18, i currently played 3 hours in one sitting yesterday.
Fair one. My bad. Wish i'd known about that sooner.
Your rig better than mine and I've not had any issues
I looked on Windows Events screen for errors, pc completelly shut down with no error message, so Windows Events is the only place i can look.
looks like your mobo has just 2 power ports, one near the keyboard plug and the PSU connection.
Win key + R
type in:
eventvwr
check the logs, either warnings or errors are the ones you want to look for. At the least should give you some leads as to what might be up, at best, it'll tell you directly.
If you highlight / select the Application log first in the left hand tree view, then over on the right hand side you'll see a "Filter Current Log" option. Click that and you'll see some filter options. Select the CRITICAL / ERROR / WARNING check boxes, then click on OK.
Have a look in the main log view, around the time that the issue happens, and see if anything interesting shows up. (You have to actually select the entry in the main view, for the details to show in the lower section.)
Do the same in the System log as well, select it, filter it, have a look at the entries.
You say the system actually POWERS OFF, and not reboots ?
If it's powering off, you've got something wrong with your PSU or it could be thermal protection shutdown from the BIOS...
