Should I play this game blind or watch some build series to help?
I play alot of factorio and similar base building/factory games and wondering if I'm taking the fun out of this for looking at tutorials and tips or will it still be manageable without looking up tips? More just wondering how hard the learning curve is with this because I do get easily frustrated thanks.

I was able to play it blind and get the sphere started. Only experience with these kind of games before this was a few hours of the Factorio Demo really. The current tutorial are good enough, and it is very easy to experiment with things as you can destroy/rebuild at no cost.
My tip would to remember to give yourself room when building to add things later, and don't be afraid to take what you learned so far and start another production area elsewhere. You have a big planet to play with!

You should be fine without vids if you're familiar with factorio. Tutorial/tips will tell you most things you need to know. Maybe test the building mechanics without combat to get used to the controls. Enable god mode in settings to make build view better

You can do as you please, but it's definitely more interesting going in blind at first and as the others have said, you should be fine learning as you go. Also, yeah, try to give yourself a bit of space when building initially, and don't be worried about removing and rebuilding as needed since it's easy to demolish and move buildings around. The only real 'cost' of rebuilding your factory is time (which might play a level of importance depending on if you decide to keep the Dark Fog/Combat on or not for your first playthrough) and the core energy of your mech/character (which is reasonably easy to manage).

It would have helped to play the game at least 50 to 100 hours before battles ... ya I did some research but hey knowledge is power ...

Did you have to restart? or just struggle a little?

Get a light teaser of gameplay of your own. And if things start to get confusing from there, look up peeps like Nilaus and just watch random gameplay. Not "From the start" gameplay. Just overall how they play and what they do.

A lot about games like this is finding your own way to play and setup your own production line.

That and the Dark Fog just released so its a lot of "Figuring stuff out on your own" on that end for practically all of us, vets and new players included.
