Battlefield Analysis Base Not Keeping Drones

Maybe I'm just dumb and glanced over the option, but I'm trying to pull out the different material drops from a couple BABs so I can ship them out to my main production area, but I can't seem to find the option that keeps the sorter from pulling out the Precision Drones or Attack Drones that I want to keep stocked in the base. Is this even possible?

Use filters on your sorters hooked up to the BAB.

But then that would limit the sorter to only outputting a single item type. I was attempting to make a single sushi-go-round with small storage boxes and logistics bots that picked up and shipped out the individual items (one box for gears, one box for magnetic coils, etc)

Yes. You can pull out up to 9 different item types from a BAB using filters on the sorters.

Understood. If you limit the types of DF drop to fewer things or even just one type per tier, you won't need to build out an extensive sorting system.

Ahh, you seek an option to EXCLUDE some things to pulled out and pull every else.

I do not know about this one, but ...
Pull all items out, place a(some) sorter(s) directly after that pulling out the things you want to remain and put them back into it.

This should place a decent amount in it with a loop.

And use the new filter method on the sorage places to dedicate it to one item.

That's pretty much the current setup, anything that doesn't get picked up by the boxes (like the drones) gets fed back into the BAB. Was just hoping/seeing if there was a way to not have to loop it around needlessly.

Yeah, but then I wouldn't get all the things without using several BABs (I'm a bit of a (greedy) hoarder with materials). I might just have to bite the bullet and go that route.

Also, it looks like the dark fog drop filter is global, not just for a single BAB :(

i got your answer to this one, i think.

Once you built your BAB with a large depot on top, make a elevator with belts and splitters right next to the BAB and connect it to the large depot on top.

Set the BAB filter for the storage to just drones of your choosing.

Next, set a filter for each item that the dark fog drops in the large depot, that way no drones will not go up into the large depot above. You can have multiple filters in one storage box.

Note: Remember, items can go up but not down so once BAB starts picking up Dark Fog drops, the items will go into the large depot instead of into the BAB storage and start to exit out of the Large depot.

And yes, i did test this out- it works.

Did a double check, there was about 3 things i was worried about with the design, but it checks out good.

Its completely unnecessary to have attack drones in the BAB so just skip it. There is no way to exclude items from being pulled right now.

I haven't tried it but I know you can lock a specific item in your inventory using the middle mouse button. You may be able to do it in the BAB also but I don't know if that would work or if it would even prevent the items from being pulled out by the sorters.

Maybe you can have 2 battle analysis base next to each other, set other one to collect items and other to have and fight with drones.

Only solution I could figure is first make sure the drones are in the first slot and set a splitter to just send them right back in.
