How to deal with Dark Fog
Dark Fog has set up 4 additional bases on my home planet. I have not been able to take out their bases, even after upgrading attack and speed. I can do this on other planets I visit, yet I can't seem to take out the ones on my own planet. They are just too strong and summon drones too fast. I think they are level 5 now. I can defend against their usual timed attacks, but that's it.

missile bases and signal towers do the trick for me. what exactly are you doing to fight them? very little detail to go off on here.

If you can survive the retaliation space attack, then the easy solution is build a massive missile battery. Then flip them to attack high air targets and destroy the relays above the bases. Using signal towers to extend the range so that relays are in range (air range seems longer)

This will piss off the space hive and they will attack.

The main bonus to destroying the relays is that it cuts off the planet side bases source of energy. Which means that they will eventually run out, and thus not be able to build more units or use their turrets.
You can speed up the drain by aggroing their units to attack your defensive lines, since unit creation will consume their now limited power supply faster.

I haven't had to deal with space attacks yet. That's at 2.2% right now and won't reach 100% any time soon. I have been using laser turrets to deal with drones. I use laser, missile and implosion turrets to try to take out the bases; which is ineffective on my planet.

the hive will attack via space when it is full.
and damn, 4 bases on your planet?
getting rid of them will for sure trigger a hive attack.
but yea.
you technicly build the starter guns and then creep closer with 4~6 missile batteries until you are close enough.
after you are close enough, set the missile batteries to high air, they will then kill the miner.
tho, build enough missile batteries accross your base/planet.

like i wrote before, with 4 bases on your planet will you for sure trigger a hive attack.

Could always save, then go full missile barrage the relays. Then see how bad the space attack is. Just make sure to grab as many missile damage upgrades.

I know the two space attacks that I had on the default settings were for the most part a non issue. First was 5 ships, second was 10 ships. Have not had more due to wiping out all their land bases in my starter system plus destroying all their attempts to establish new bases. So the space hive likely run out of resources.

Also if you toss down a shield generator, there is are upgrades reduces the amount of power consumed by blocking damage.

Since if you are able to destroy the relays and tank the space hives retaliation, the bases will eventually run out of power. Then they are a cake walk to clean up and turn into geothermal power.

Thanks to every one's suggestions, I kicked the Dark Fog off my planet. I set up 32 missile turrets and ammo production nearby. If the signal tower was named "missile targeting tower" I wouldn't have been as confused as to what it did.

Now the question is, how do I keep them off the planet? I'd like to remove all the defenses without worry of them coming back and wiping it all out while i'm on another planet lol. The hive threat is now at 4.2%. I guess I am lucky it didn't skyrocket to 100%. I am not ready for orbital (space) defense or attack yet.
