Dysonspheres around blackholes are a real frelling theoretical concept. But they are actually just reflective spheres you construct around them.
You see... Singularities in real life are actually correctly called "Ringularities". Yes. Because black holes has ONE thing in common with basically every other object in the universe, they SPIN. And their spin is so powerfull, not only does it cause the single point of infinite density to become an infinitely dense ring, but it also drags Space.
When a black hole drags space, anything falling into it parallel to the direction of the spin will actually gain momentun/energy if it manages to escape again. You can do this by simply throwing mass into the black hole as your rocket flies towards it.
Even better, due to this spinning spacetime, you can simply shoot photons towards the edge of the event horizon, which will cause "Superradiant Scattering".
To do this you simply just need to encase the black hole in something that is similar to a dysonsphere, a sphere of super effecient mirrors to reflect the energy around inside the black hole. This will cause the light to bounce around inside and constantly intensify as it steals spinenergy from the black hole. In fact, this can create some of the most powerfull technological bombs you can imagine in the universe, as if you do not let this energy out, the sphere can blow and release all the energybuildup inside with a force akin to a supernova.
Not only that, if you somehow are able to build one around the accretiondisc of a black hole, somehow, you can gain more energy than a star ever could depending on the intensity and mass of the accretiondisc. As said before. Black holes can be some of the brightest, hottest places in the universe as they make energy the most effecient ways possible, in multiple ways... Just need the right conditions. Otherwise they are dark spots that just emit hawkin radiation.
It is also a much smarter move than a dysonsphere once you are able to travel to a black hole, as such a "dysonsphere" only needs to be the fraction of the size a normal one would around a black hole the mass of our sun. A couple of large asteroids would be enough to build it.
And is the longest theoretical way to keep a civilization powered towards the theoretical heatdeath of our universe. Black holes spin. Hawkin radiation is NOT the ONLY form of energy they can provide or give back to the universe.

This man drinks milk!
But hey I don’t know.

It's been linked here on the DSP forums before, but it never hurts to enlighten even more folks.
... besides, who doesn't love a good Kurzgesagt video?!

OP: I'm building a ring around a black hole and I'm getting weird visual effects that are super bright?
Forum: Once I played a game and my computer melted.
OP: Ok? My screenshot though, how do I fix this? Do the developers know?
Forum: This is how you built a heat-death of the universe resistant habitat for the end of civilization!
