Personally I like Factorio more, but both games are great, so I recommend getting both of them!
Conclusion Both
Nit Pick
Complexity and polish=cractorio
graphics and promise of a prettier space style factorio =DSP
dyson sphere doesnt, but is far better
DSP has Dyson spheres, building them is fun :)
They are different enough that you won't feel like you are playing the same game, only the same genre. And both are excellent games. Factorio being a released game with lots of stuff to do and TONS of mods, that is something DSP lacks for now. But it will get there I hope.
I would pick first the game that interests you more right now.
Edit:
Still hoping for different sized planets in DSP.
I think DSP allows for a quicker dive into the core mechanics : interplanetary and interstellar travel. It is more straightforward and damn, setting up your first interstellar logistic network is damn cool, not to mention seeing your first Dyson Frame being built then completed.
Having limited space per planet makes you peer at the stellar map, looking for the adequate systems and imagining the planet specialization. Like, "here I gonna build a forge planet", "here it gonna be a science planet", "damn this one has acidic lakes".
Of course, Factorio is older and more polished. But I think it is like a nuclear power plant, it is a bit more complicated, takes more time to get into the core of the game ; but after enough time it becomes pure crack.
If you like having perfect control of absolutely everything in your factory, then it's for you. The logic wires allows for fine-tuning any element, from machines to inserters, including accumulators and trains.
In terms of you only have enough money for one i would say factorio because the vast amount of mods can make it whatever you want.
