Please let me PROPERLY rebind all the keys

I never played a game like this before, or any similar game in this genre. I really, REALLY wanted to play this game, but it is neigh impossible for me, as I am left-handed. That means I am using the keyboard with my right hand. I absolutely need to rebind all the keys, but the game will not let me rebind everything. Certain key combinations are locked the way they are.

Furthermore, the game tells you to hold "shift" for queueing multiple orders. When I hold left shift, it works. When I hold right shift, it does NOT work. I unbound the key, used my right shift to bind it anew, and still the game only accepts the left shift key. I did not test it with control, but I am sure that key will have the same issue.

I had to refund the game as currently there also is no controller support. I would love to play this game, it looks amazing, but in its current state I cannot control it. I would be fine with certain key combinations being unchangeable, but being unable to use the right shift (and possible control) key makes this a pain in the buttocks. Does anybody have a fix for this? Can a dev maybe help out with this? I will gladly buy this game again if it is more accessible for left-handed people!

A maybe Workaround is using a software to remap the Keyboard. Most Gamingkeyboards have such in the Software they use. Other tool i know is "SharpKeys" it´s open source. mfg Tekk

I use AutoHotkey. It's flexible and open source but you have to learn the scripting language.

You're not the first to ask for better keybinding support. Unfortunately at the moment the Dev's don't seem to update between scheduled updates and the next is slated to be the big Dark Fog update. It's doubtful a QOL accessibility upgrade would be slapped on it or before then. It'll probably make it in before full release from early access though.

That said, you can still enjoy the game if you've got a favorite streamer that has put up a let's play.

Just a curious question: Have you ever tried putting a concerted effort to train yourself to mouse right handed? All the lefties I know at work do it, probably because our shared work computers are all setup right handed. I know it feels odd, sort of like trying to brush your teeth with your off-hand. But it's possible and with a enough practice can start to feel less unnatural.

I started playing on my dad's PC at the age of 6, and he is left-handed as well. I just got used to it so early that it is impossible for me to re-learn. I tried as I got older, especially when I started playing first-person shooters, but to no avail. That being said, thanks for your reply! Nice to get some insight into update schedule as well!

Us ESDF players are SOL as well. Some of the keys are hard-coded and can't be rebound (the E key, I believe).

I use that in some games as a last resort. The problem with rebinding your keys that way is that when I rebind movement keys with AHK they get stuck in the down position once in a while.
Also in games where you type in chat or have to enter a freeform string, the rebound keys will produce nonsense, so then you have to have another key for toggling rebinding keys, and have to remember to turn off the keybinds every time you want to type something in the game.

Yeah it´s a bit around the corner, my last Keyboard was a cheap Sharkoon and they had profiling for this in it´s Software (but tabbing out of the Game.... you know :))
Let´s hope in some updates the Dev´s/Unity address this a bit more.

again a poor troll because im right handed and play the left for convinence without real trouble despit suboptimal even fps games
if he was so much loving this game as pretended he found many solution of custom keyboard and even DIY kit for make the keyboard with each key position and design as you want and its still plug and play
despit not left handed i still buyed all the hid kit in existence for make my own set of joystick and keyboard but for those that dont have hand skill or time to spend in crafting it exist ready to use many key device not maned keyboard but who emulate some key the most know are the numpad but their is a bunch of diferent device
obivously i use a left handed mouse and also trackball for this
but im not sure it exist standard keyboard reversed
still i agree than devs are focusing on extrem high level expension of the game and seem to dont care for the very basic

I don't really understand the meaning of your message. I'm playing plenty of games where rebinding the keys is not a problem. If a game requires me to download third party software to fix its flaws I'd rather don't play at all. You are right, I could do just that and get my keyboard set up for this one game, but this does not excuse developers of not considering left-handed playerbase. Also, I made a request to the devs, and your post did not add anything to this conversation - except of calling me out as a troll. No hate, but please consider your participation in the future.

the dev are not about the basics of this game
and focus on the extrem expension
when the begining is lacking of atention
i played many another game more weird when its about driving vehiocule without customisable control
its not rare at all
i not agrere with your statement if a game is cool and dont have binding you canot miss it
their is so much game that have perfect menu and gui and are out of interest
i considere my left hand even inferior to be playable so why you just not train your body to obey your mind or better train your mind to obey your soul
