It's a bit tedious to fly around the gas giant clicking 40 times at just the right timing. Being able to drop a blueprint (or just say I want 40 collectors placed) would remove some of that tedium. (Though you'd still have to fly around the planet to get your construction drones into range -- so it doesn't completely remove it)
Of course, if you did have a blueprint for gas giants the result of rapidly traversing the planet would be that you end up losing all of your construction drones. It takes forever for a drone to build a single orbital collector (because it has to fly all the way up to the top, then all the way back down) that I find myself having to stop to wait for the drone to finish the construction and start on the way back or it ends up falling permanently behind.
Before pushing for a blueprint for gas giants, I'd want to see a change where construction drones can remain in the same plane as the mech throughout the construction process. This would speed the process up immensely.
lol yes, something like a dog whistle to call our drones to stay within range. This would also be useful for when I place a blueprint on the opposite side of a planet and want to lay towers from my current point to where the blueprint is.
