What to do with excess Energetic Graphite?
im at the beginning of the lategame id say...
have a dyson sphere around 20% complete....
but that energetic graphite is absolutely ridicioulus...(only getting it from fractionating)
of course i have massive production lines for diamonds and plastic and whatever....
just added 100 incineration plants(to the 50 ive alrdy had) to try to get rid of this ♥♥♥♥.... and it looks rly dumb and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ on my planet... will see if its even enough in few hours i think...
my power production didnt even increase by 1% though...(ya that incineration plants are crap)
what are ur suggestions for this?

If you have a need to burn excess graphite, it means you are using X-ray cracking. (Because smelting graphite from coal simply stops without any other consequences if there isn't enough demand.)
If that's true, then simply stop and delete all you X-ray cracking facilities. You don't really need them. Gas giants will cover all your needs in Hydrogen

well my gas giant is completely covered with stations
i have a universe wide hydrogen theoretical max production of around 13k/min and a theoretical max demand of 23k/min... as i stated i feel still like at the beginning of endgame....
so basically ure wrong!

Uhm yeah. There's more than one of those. Use them.

Also veins utilization does make a large impact on resource output from Orbital Collectors. Since without any levels in it researched, most of the resources collected go to powering the collector.

Yeah sounds like you have no or only low VU researched and have only tapped one gas giant.

well ill try that out :D thx guys for pointing me into the obvious...

Yeah in the end game it's actually in the opposite: get rid of hydrogen as side product, especially when you have worlds specialized in processing oil and fire ice.

I played it both ways. Using cracking and not, using E. graphite from coal and H2 bi-product. Depends on waste H2 production at the time.

convert it into graphene to be used to make your logistics towers and such.

as mentioned, X ray cracking is kind of an emergency use when you dont have access to coal but need it for the graphite. the hydrogen off the normal oil refining process should be plenty early game and mid to late game the gas giant will give you everything you need.

While I'm not a fan of x-ray cracking myself, there's a very easy way to get rid of excess graphite. First, use a splitter to make sure you use the graphite if you need. Feed the overflow into a line making diamonds. Use another splitter to use those diamonds in your factory first if possible. Then feed the overflow into thermal power plants. Diamonds have very little energy to them, so they'll burn really well pretty much regardless of the state of your power grid.

ooo yeah forgot about that product needing it. yes amp up production of this!

You can convert it to diamonds and burn those in a thermal power plant. It's ridiculously inefficient, but it'll work until you get your veins utilization up decently high that you don't need x-ray cracking anymore.

I only use X-ray cracking for red matrices as it gives both products needed, add a little graphite from coal and you can make a balanced system.

And when burning off excess make the following construction. Thermal plants burning the excess product (for me that has always been hydrogen in early game) connected ONLY to a set of energy exchangers. Feed the batteries charged there to an other set off power exchangers connected to the main power net. That way the power from the excess gets priority over the power production connected directly to the main power net.
