Is there a buildable lightsource?
If not, I really hope they add one

I have nothing against the night and day cycle, it looks lovely as is. But it is really weird running around your base, barely being able to make out some stuff as you are doing things. Or when harvesting early game.

it can be hard to distinguish stuff on belts sometimes but as far as being able to see everything otherwise night time hasnt been an issue.

i guess unless your in a black hole system lighting might be an issue with no star to emit light only to consume it.
edit: wouldnt it be neat if they were able to portray all light near the blackhole bending in some weird way to match our understanding of how light interacts with its intense gravity field?
It looks pretty funky if you try and land on it.

I do think a factory complex that is lit at night would be very aesthetically pleasing to watch.

This is what night looks like for me.
Everything there should be clearly visible.

The histogram of your entire 2 megapixel image is RGB 0x1D2332, which is a moderately dark bluish grey. (Histograms of smaller areas like the patch of ocean just to the right of your Mecha, the beach nearby, or the grassland on the left side are similar to the values I mentioned earlier from my own screenshots.)

I really fail to see how implementing a lamp item is such a huge issue to some here

issue? the only issue is the game is so dark for you that you cannot see stuff when the rest of us can. its like 20 people in a room looking at a emerald and only 1 person says its a diamond (cuz he cant see the color.)

i wouldnt mind lighting type decorations, but as an optional decoration not as something someone should need. so if you need lights, you might look into why you cant see in the dark and the rest of us can.

Mate

I just want a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ lamp so I can see more during the night
I never said the game is pitch bloody black, my screen matches the screenshots of other players. I just want a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ lamp.

It aint that deep

Also your comparsion of an emerald and diamond makes no sense. They have completely different shapes and last time I checked color isnt based on how bright your room is.

Now go and touch grass instead of reading inbetween every single one of my lines.

there is the artifical star, which spends some light ;)
putting down artificial stars so you can see on the dark side of the planet is such a rich people method
