Icarus customization questions
I select a body part, left click on a color, and it brings up the palette tool. OK, but what do I have to push to actually apply the color?

Is there a way to apply a color to a group of parts? (The answer to the first, may also be the answer here.)

It may just be me, but it would seem logical to bring up the palette with a right-click and apply it with a left click. But, no.

I don't seen see an "apply customisation" button.

Ah apologies it's 'apply mecha design' it's a big orange button on the left hand side of the customisation screen.

I'm actually a step previous to that. I get it that when you are done, you apply. But, how do you apply a specific color to a group of parts? I did it once, but don't realize what I did. I'n getting stuck on how to set a color scheme and inherit. Every time I use inherit, it goes back to what it was, not the new color.

I don't think you need to click anything, just use the colour wheel and the sliders and the colour is applied, at least that's how it works for me.

OK. I think I got it. You change the main colors for the various groups, and turn off inherit for any of those parts you want special. I didn't understand that the colors bar up top is the main palette.

Ah I didn't even notice that lol, I changed all my parts to the same colour individually like a rube.

I did too. I still haven't quite got it yet. I'll work on it.

it is kind of strange but i think i understand the reason behind the design choice.

later in development, some kind of basic walkthrough tutorial for this might be a good idea. its still pretty neat they put in a basic 3d modling app for your mech in there rather than just simple pre-built parts. already seen some neat designs around the web.

I'm not necessary arguing the design choices, except that in just about every game I've ever played with this feature, a right click brings up the palette choices and a left click assigns whichever color has been set.

For something like this that doesn't effect game play, I think they should have examined what some of the common control conventions have been historically. It would help for a more intuitive interface.
