Need a recipe for Water to Hydrogen
The second I see hydrogen as a resource I intuitively assume there is a recipe for using electrolysis to split hydrogen from water. The game even has water pumps. Yet no such recipe exists.

I assume this is at least partially due to a balance concern? Since hydrogen seems to be used in a bunch of materials and since it currently can only be gained through oil refining, it's kind of rare. But it really shouldn't be rare. Hydrogen is the most common element in the universe. The game even says this.

You can get it from gas giants at infinite amounts as well. You need refined oil for plastic anyway so there is excess of hydrogen to convert to deuterium from that process later on.

With the bingo machine deuterium conversion it's so efficient you convert it at 1/1 ratio

All this to say there is already tons without electrolysis. I wouldn't mind the machine and remove it from gas giants but i also prefer the realism in the gas giant approach.

but hydrogen is the most abundant resource in the game

your electrolys is oil

Ya i said gas giants but really at that point you don't even need it.

Oh right. I forgot about gas giants. I guess it really doesn't make any sense as a "rare" resource even in-game.

I guess the devs just thought that they didn't need to bother since you already have multiple ways to get it, but I still wish it were a thing.

Hydrogen only seems rare because when you most need it to advance the research tree by making red science cubes it is very scarce since the only way to get it appears to be from refining oil.
