Best planet type to increase the soil pile?
Every once in a while, I'll land on a planet that has some decent hills and using the foundation at the max footprint, I can sometimes add 50k to the soil pile. I was wondering if some planets are better than others. Ice Field Geisol isn't bad.

ice geisol but dont use large foundation. Use one square and swipe it around. You can get 4 million with just a few stacks.

Thanks for the tip!

yes, but if you are looking to farm soil poil, actually none are good. Instead, farm soil pile by passively killing dark fog units, achieved through setting up turrets in the base aggro range but outside the range of their turrets.

This thread is from 2021, before dark fog was added to the game

I usually can get enough soil pile once I start mining for titanium and silicon in my home system. I have to put down a ton of wind turbines to run an interplanetary logistics station, and I go out of my way to place the turbines in places that will generate soil. This doesn't generate as much soil as papering over the high spots on the planet with foundation, but I have to use the turbines anyway, and I would be sort of wasting the foundation.

What do you mean by "a large container bp"? By "large container", are you referring to the Depot MK.II? And do you mean a blueprint that would cover the planet with these? To create something like that, you'd have to first create a ludicrous number of containers. And even if you did do it, you've got to follow around and wait for the bots to place them all. That'd take forever.

I have the blueprint tweaks mod which lets me blueprint foundations. I create large fields of them and place them on hills.

2024 answer - just farm a dark fog for a while, you will get tons of soil pile
