Epic Seeds
Post any great seeds you find. I'll start.

Tidal Locked: (Has a planet that is tidally locked for perpetual day/night in starting system)
1337 1990
1990 1990
7890 7890
2644 2372
7439 3087

Plural Satellites: (Starting system has a second planet orbiting gas/ice giant)
1337 1337
4200 4200
4200 1337
1990 1337
6381 4476
1330 3370
1331 1331
5337 5337
2337 2337
1290 1290
7445 4015
5013 3325
2323 2323
6969 1337
7133 7133

Plural Satellites + Tidal Locked:
3245 8661 - Courtesy of Masaru

Misc:
3333 3333 - Courtesy of PaleCook on reddit. A B-type star named Errai ~9 lightyears from starting system has 3 habitable (water as ocean type) satellite planets orbiting a gas giant (Prairie, Red Stone, and Oceanic Jungle), as well as a second giant with a satellite planet.

What I know so far about world gen based on a very brief look at the game code:

Star generation is based on star type, with your starting star being the exception. The starting star will always have 3 planets and a gas/ice giant. From my brief look so far, I don't yet see anything that would prevent all 3 functional planets in your starting system from orbiting the same giant, but I'll try to verify that later. I've yet to look at the planet gen to see what determines orbit info though, so no word yet on what can be tidally locked and what can't. As for other stars, they will have the following number of planets.

M-Type 1-4
K-Type 1-5
G-Type 3-5
F-Type 3-5
A-Type 3-5
B-Type 4-6
O-Type 5-6
Giant Star 1-3
Neutron Star 1
White Dwarf 1-2
Black Hole 1

Edit: Added to the list. Added world gen info.

Not sure what constitutes "Epic" as I have just started playing but I spawned in on 94361078. Iron and Copper was right next to each other, but stone is far away. Still working pretty good for me so far. :BL3Shrug:

13371337, definitely gonna play this ^^ There is a skip prologue button by the way in case you did not notice.

Cheers for the seeds. <3

I hadn't seen this, but I'll look for it next time I start a new universe. Thanks!

Also, to the devs, please sticky this thread. A centralized source of map seeds is kind of a must with games like this.
yes Jan 28, 2021 @ 8:01am
there also is another older seed-thread. dunno if steam-discussion-thingy allows to merge?
also would be kinda neat if thered be no discussion in such threads (iknow wishful thinking).

Starter ice giant with fire ice and hydrogen. Orbited by your starter planet and a desert planet with titanium. 2nd planet closer to sun is lava with silicon.

Is that not the standard setting for every game besides those "epic seeds"?

Not really
Most common start is a gas giant with just hydrogen and deuterium, orbited by starter planet and 2 other planet orbiting the sun

For this thread a juicy start:
5168 9937

The starter system is a bit challenging:
- You have the usual gas giant withour rare resources - normal
- the other 2 planet are ice planets with way bigger orbits
so transport vessels take longer and solar power is less viable
- your starter planet has a tilted axis

But
- There is a black hole and a blue giant within 6 light years distance.

Interesting for those who want a more challenging start and potentially great for interstellar building (at least after the logistics update)

Guys, what do we know about star systems so far? I visited a black hole but it does not seem to do much yet. Neutron star, Red giant, Blue giant, is there anything special about them? Would I want more of a certain type in my system or close to my starting location?
Isenfalk Jan 28, 2021 @ 12:42pm
Actually, we know a bit:

black hole / neutron star:
has usually a planet with unipolar magnet deposits, great production boost

Blue giant: highest brightness and HUGE sphere radius available
Solar has a big bonus
A dyson sphere there is huge with increased output

A and B type stars also have higher than average brightness (can be seen in star map view)

Also I think that some other star types have higher chances for specific rare resources, but I haven't warped that much yet

Also second satellite has 150% wind. But you should mention that it is second planet which tidal locked, it is not clear from your post

But don't solar sails produce a fixed amount of energy? Not sure if brightness / luminosity play a role. Radius is an interesting point though.
