What is the "K" symbol next to a Solar System name?
As I was hopping around the universe I noticed one of the system's had a K type symbol before it's name.

Anyone know what this means?

Greek "Kappa" maybe? I think I saw the Greek "Alpha “symbol at some point.

It is the Kappa signal, good shout, intrigued as to what it designates in game.

was interested little so i find it on wikipedia

Most stars are currently classified under the Morgan–Keenan (MK) system using the letters O, B, A, F, G, K, and M, a sequence from the hottest (O type) to the coolest (M type). Each letter class is then subdivided using a numeric digit with 0 being hottest and 9 being coolest (e.g., A8, A9, F0, and F1 form a sequence from hotter to cooler). The sequence has been expanded with classes for other stars and star-like objects that do not fit in the classical system, such as class D for white dwarfs and classes S and C for carbon stars.

I must just be a flair to normal star naming, real life example being instead of calling our nearest star " Alpha Centauri " we use the we use "GreekAlpha Centauri"

Hmm does it mean it has rare resources in the system?

A K-class star is orange in color and somewhat cooler than our Sun. In terms of DSP, that means that it likely has somewhat lower luminosity and thus doesn't offer as much power for a Dyson Sphere.

No OP does not mean star type, he means small symbol к some stars have in front.

As others have said, it's the star classification. They do have a purpose in this game as different star classes have different sizes and illumination, both of which effect how much power a Dyson Sphere produces. You can see a summary of what stars are generated at game start and their classification when you make a game.

Side note; the best to build a Sphere at is O type.

No it is not. Here is a system from my seed - You can see B class star and it has kappa symbol in front

Ah, that means it's in the Kappa position of the constellation. A real world example of this being Kappa Centauri or Kappa Orionis.

See my screenshot above B class star has kappa symbol in front.

Doubt it, why only kappa marked, no alphas etc?

Because they're entirely different stars often hundreds if not thousands of lightyears away. I'm talking about real world constellations, not in game constellations. Kappa Centauri is a real star in the Centaurus constellation alongisde Alpha, Beta, Gamma, and Theta Centauri.
