Hydrogen fuel rod for power generation vs raw Hydrogen (solved)
Is there any point on using hydrogen fuel rods on the power plants?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Edit:
Did a test on power plants 5 hydrogen vs 1 rod, they perform the same on power plant so fuel chamber gen only affects mech power input.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The amount of energy is the same so you actually get less total power since you spend some actually making the rod.
The only difference is the gen chamber %, raw is 100% and rod is 200%.

Do this affect power plants or is only a value applied to mecha?

Thank you.

P.D: I have other energy sources better than this but for my expansion plans is quick to gather the local gas giant for kickstarting power. Plan B is to just haul deuterium rods.

I think the rods are meant to be used in the mech as a fuel source, not in the power plant
The only possible benefit that hydrogen fuel rods have is that they provide power faster than pure hydrogen. Not more power, just faster power. You can get the same effect by having more power plants.

So, no there is no benefit to using them in power plants unless you are pressed for space.

Ended doing a quick test of 5 hydrogen vs 1 fuel rod, they perfom exactly the same so it seems that using Hydrogen for power must be used in raw form.
The point of rods is only for mech so you can pack more power in the early stages.

Fusion Generators use Rods too.

Yeah honestly I think the Hydrogen Fuel rods are pretty worthless, except as a mech power source for the brief period of time until you get the tech for deuteron and antimatter fuel rods. To be honest I just used energetic graphite in my mech until I got deuteron rods (which last damn near forever). I stockpiled thousands of the Hydrogen Fuel rods though, figuring they would be important later, but they really aren't

That's nice, and off topic.

But they don't use hydrogen rods, so It's not a valid point in this issue.

Yes, Did actually the same. Used up a lot of time setting up huge factory chains so I researched slowly a lot of stuff, when I moved to actually using tech I jumped from graphite to deuterium.
