I'm of the latter type so I tend to collect everything (shrubs, trees, stones, etc.) instead of just paving over it all.
Some sort of drone to harvest all this stuff would be real nice.
Somethind you can just put on a planet that will automatically harvests everything destructible and places the resources in a tower.
Which needs space. Which needs clearing. Doing that properly is a task from inconvenient (chain expansion) to bonkers (planetary).
It feels like a betrayal to the game's theme of turning everything into energy and data; while increasing automation in order to achieve that!
You can build inventory garbage collection with Logistics Distributors now, that's nice.
Mining plants and rocks, however, is limited to a 20-ish command queue, where every item has to be clicked individually.
Got to give mods a try, playing vanilla so far.
If you are open to modding your game there is an auto harvest mod out there that uses your construction drones to clear things.
