Silicon issue - is it just me?
I mean the lack of silicon slows down EVERYTHING for me... everything. Research, production, overall expansion. Stone to silicon ratio (10:1) is insane and while i am able to mine silicon crystals in one of my planet, it quickly runs off. Now i am forced to move silicon crystals from another solar system which is slow and still insufficient to feed all my factories. Funny is, that i dont have such problem with any other resources...
So yea, is it just me or game is meant to work this way and lack of silicon is natual ballance tool.

Simply reaching the point where you can use interstellar logistics, this problem is completely solved. I currently have a route setup for my ships to delivery silicon to my home planet. Have copious amounts of it now. It's a game mechanic to encourage you to explore other planets.

*You will find the same about titanium.

Silicon can be mined directly off world. Ship it in once you have interplanetary logistics.

Yep, I went and found titanium and silicon on my other worlds as soon as I could setting up mining/refining operations on them plus massive storage areas for the plates afterwards, until I had interstellar logistics researched and emplaced. Usually would make a run with an empty inventory every 30-60 minutes until this was done and grab about 60-80 stacks of the relevent element from that particular planet.

Its the game telling you.... "ok you had fun on this planet, now get your butt on other worlds"

Idk, it might just be the rng in the system but I have no issues with titanium myself...my starting system has like 800k silicon left and ive already started setting up to other systems for me...Every other resource (Except coal which is 5m) has over 18m left in my solar system...silicon definitely seems to be the one lacking

Im with you on the silicon drought...ive setup miners and logistics on the other 2 planets and i cannot get enough even with a huge smelter setup for stone to silicon. Going to setup interstellar stuff soon

Don't smelt stone into silicon. Mine silicon directly, then it's the same 1 to 1 ratio as everything else. The 10:1 ratio really only exists to give you a way to get *some* silicon on your starter world while also keeping it much more difficult to get than other materials in the early game. Once you can mine it on something like an ice planet, just do that. There's no reason to use the 10:1 method anymore.

it's really much easier to ship in pure silicon from elsewhere than it is to do it locally via burning stone.

The stone option's just there to fit the same niche that the titanium scraps from rocks do - it gives you a little bit to get started and maybe set up some solar panels with.

Well as i said, stone AND silicon from 2 solar systems is just not enough (while titanium, iron and copper... i have tons of them). Sure, i may colonise another star systems but daamn, demand for silicon is huge compared to its rarity (and rarity of other raw materials).

I think you got unlucky with your other two planets by not having enough silicon.
That makes things a little tougher but I don't think it's too bad. There should be plenty of stone both on your home planet and on the other two planets. You can also create interplanetary logistic towers and have silicon delivered from nearby solar systems without warp.
You might want to rush to unlock the green cube so that you can more easily bring in silicon from other solar systems.

Naah, after few hours, i just moved all silicon from other solar system and everything is fine now thanks to some warp cells. Sure i am lacking other stuff, but this is what the game is about :D
