How to power on a mining machine?

Hey guys, I am starting this title, and would love to know how to make a mining machine to start working, My first one is near an iron vein (large), etc. But, how to make the machine to start running, please?

The tutorial goes to great lengths to explain all that.

You need to produce power with something like a wind turbine. Either building one with the miner directly in its range, or connect them with energy towers.

I think it needs power, so you need to place a tesla tower (power pole) next to it which is connected to the power grid. Or at least place a wind turbine or two. :-)

I saw it's not the first your question about basics. You should try to follow tutorial or just watch some videos on YouTube how to make your first steps

Sorry guys. Just a basic question about something I was not able to find in any place. I have mining machines near veins. They only work if I manually click on that button. The buttons to play, etc, are in grey. Why that?

Do you have a belt coming off the back into storage/production structures?

Okay, gonna level with you and assert what others have already said. This is a basic game mechanic that's taught by the tutorial. You should REALLY be paying attention to it because things are gonna get a bit more complicated than getting a miner to work fairly quickly.

If you miss a tutorial, or what some more details on a topic (with video examples), press G in game to bring up the help/tutorials.

while the tutorial is impressive for an EA title, it is far from clear sometimes and sometimes it's just downright opaque about what it's trying to say.

In the later stages of the game, I agree with you.
But at the beginning the turorial is very clear and understandable.

Hell, let's all be honest on this point - past a certain point tutorials don't even exist (yet) for how things work. But we're talking about powering a miner and having it feed its materials to storage/production. It's literally one of the first tutorials that's given.
