You'll want to have bigger production later on either on a separate part of the planet or another planet, and if you want to, clean up some of the older builds
A great solution is to build a "main bus" as others have suggested. So, that is what i did.
Defenetly build it on the same planet you are already on, you need a starting base to get going in this new project.
Just let your axisting base keep on going, And build a new one along the equator.
At first, build new machines, and later on you can relocate existing machnes if you like.
A main bus is easy to build, expand and maintain. I'll post some screenshots later.
If i had to do it again, i would change some things (like leaving more space for expansion later on).
So, don't feel bad, it's a natural part of learning and progressing in the game. Base will be better and better!

You can always migrate to a new planet, just make sure you adjust your miners on your starter planet so they leech everything empty and export the most important stuff and you'll never have to see the mess again you made lol
That's also why you don't build what looks like unlimited boxes everywhere.
Have fun dismantling those. And remember; buffers are bad.
1) look at existing planet and see if it can be salvaged/reworked. Disassemble buildings, build new storage area, transfer old storage items to it, disassemble old storage etc. Maybe turn off power generation so that fuel isnt being wasted if its gonna take a long time to reorganize.
2) Make sure your old game is saved before you start a new game. Make sure that you dont accidentally overwrite it. While playing on your new game you may decide that you would rather just play your old game and salvage/rework it.
IMO dont think of a sloppy base as a failed game or start a new game because of it. Think of it as just another challenge that you have to overcome. Its not like there is any pressure for you to progress at a certain pace and there arent critters that will come attack you while you rework your base.
You know I didnt realise and ended up with ♥♥♥♥ loads of oil, im going to burn it now.
