This is a known issue.
One upside is now I found a simple way to destroy excess parts lol.
Already read the dev's FAQs and etc.
Got it
Should update post to label as ‘dumb feature’
the only "fix" to this "bug" can be to notify the player on lack of inantory space, which my guess would be that you totally ignore and then cry about a bug that can only be fixed with a 2 steps authenticator through your email and mobile phone
This is clearly "working as designed" -- whether or not it is a good design is another question altogether. For myself, I prefer this implementation: 90%+ of the time when I destroy a building I'm not particularly interested in recovering the goods that are stored in that building, and being unable to destroy a building without first clearing out enough inventory space to hold the items contained within would be very, very annoying.
Dropping items on the ground would be even worse than the current solution, though -- you'd end up with items getting left on the ground everywhere, bloating save files sizes and possibly hurting performance.
Some people have suggested an invisible "extra" inventory where items that would otherwise be lost would be placed. As you cleared up normal inventory spots, items would be automatically added from the extra inventory until it was emptied. I don't like this idea either: it makes inventory management much more difficult.
Honestly, I think the current implementation is pretty much ideal from my perspective, but your mileage may vary.
Or, you could update your post to label the post "PEBKAC". Seeing as it's user issue and not a game issue.
