How to fix lag issue and FPS
I have a good specification pc for this game and I am experiencing lag issues and low fps. I have cleared everything and updated the drivers before i installed the game and when i start a new planet, i get about 4/5 FPS? How do i get more fps ?

Low FPS? Never dipped below 100 on a full spaghetti world producing loads of blue, red and yellow matrix.. And im not even pushing my cpu that hard.

I'm feeling your pain. i7-8700, 32GB RAM, GTX 2080ti and i get frequent 60fps -> 5fps dips, especially when flying. I have the latest Nvidia drivers, tried setting CPU affinity to high, ran disc cleanup, disabled antivirus, etc. Haven't been able to figure it out.

i'm curious... what version of windows do you guys use? my 7700k i7 and 2080ti have 0 issues when it comes to performance.

Make sure the game is running on your video card and not onboard if you have built-in CPU GFX.

I tried the above on My Dell XPS15, but still doesn't help the 3 fps I see most of the time.

I know that the graphics card is barely spec with 2 GB ram, so I tried my daughter's HP gaming desktop system I got her last year that has an 8 GB video card, but still only see 10 fps.

I adjusted a few of the graphic settings, but didn't seem to help.

Would be nice to have a master option for low, medium, and high end graphics that I have seen in other games.

As other people has mentioned above, both these computers are set up about the same.

I7 with 16 Gb ram and SSD hard drive running Windows 10.

Thanks for any help - would love to be able to relax on the couch and play this game after a hard day at work.

Yeah would be nice if they have a option for low graphics and for low end specification pcs

I have read a few other post about how this game loads up the GPU for a lot of the calculations instead of the CPU. My laptop graphics in decent, but would prefer to have the option to have some of the calculations done on my CPU that's an I7.

The calculations are already only done the CPU.

The GPU is already strictly being used simply to render graphics because the game doesn't use any OpenCL-, GPGPU-, or CUDA-specific code to enable GPU-based processing.

The load you're seeing on your GPU is simply because the game can throw a lot of tris (polygons) at the GPU in the mid-to-late game.

I would have to ask what i7 you have, because my old, outdated i7-6800K is far from struggling yet in the late game. Not all i7's are created equally. There are low-end i7s and even some that are only 2c/4t low-wattage models that a desktop i5 can surpass. "i7" by itself nowadays means close to nothing.

It is fairly old i7 (Task manager reports it as a i7-4702HQ that runs at 2.2 GHz with 4 cores/8 threads)
It is an older Dell XPS15 that I really need to replace, but not sure I want another XPS or go with something with a better graphic card.
