Spaceflight with a controller or joystick could be fun, and doable. I think I'll give it a shot with JoyToKey.
Operating a game controller like a mouse is stressful. I don't want to do it too much because it's troublesome.
This is one of those games.
In other words, it is a request to add it as a controller UI.
However, I understand that adding new content is a priority, as many players feel that keyboard and mouse controls are enough.
No, they aren't "enough". They are literally the only control scheme that makes sense. Controllers do not work well in games like these, just look up Factorio's recent Switch release. It has dedicated controller support, obviously. The devs did their best to make it playable with controllers. It still completely sucks, because no matter how hard you try it's not possible to get over some of the issues that come from not having a mouse and a only be able to use a very limited number on inputs.
I will quote my previous statement: "Some games are simply made for mouse and keyboard and will NEVER play well even with proper controller support. This is one of those games." Adding official controller support on PC is an absolute waste of development time.
