Graphite

How can I make Energetic Graphite using the 2nd recipe? The one with Hydrogen and Oil? I don't see it in the smelter options nor in any other building type. Thanks in advance if you have the answer.

X-Ray cracking. With X-Ray cracking your oil refineries have the ability to break down refined oil and hydrogen into graphite and even more hydrogen. Set up one oil refinery to refine crude oil to produce refined oil and hydrogen, then another refinery to take in that refined oil and hydrogen and break those down into graphite and extra hydrogen.

@ Keddaae. Gunakor is right however i wish to point out that refining is a 1:2:4 ratio.
1 Crude Oil/s can supply 2 Plasma Refining and the output can supply 4 X-Ray Cracking.

The recipe shows up much earlier than it is actually available. That's a bit of a UI glitch and is more confusing than helpful.

I actually ran out of coal within 15 LYs of starting system and needed to get graphite from X-ray cracking. I came up with this optimal build:

Just make sure all the sorters are MK1 (or it won't work). The sorters the x-ray cracking refinerys use to share hydrogen need to be MK3. This setup can be duplicated 4 times for each logistics tower. 120 oil a second.

here's a small, scaleable setup i use. crude comes in from the top post, then the refined oil and hydrogen go right back in and down to the x-ray crackers. the hydrogen gets circled around and the graphite gets filtered and stored along with excess hydrogen

Oh wow! Thanks so much guys! this is a HUGE help! I guess the next question is Where do I get the XRay Crackers?

I'm assuming they are on the Production button in either the F2 or F10 slot, which I do not have yet. I have just about everything researched except the last few Item that require green and white science cubes

Usually any new buildings are listed in the research preview window, but none of what I have left shows the XRay cracker building

Xray-Cracking is a refinery recipe. Refineries are in the Production menu.
