Changing keybinds?
It might seem small but I know several people, one who refunded the game, who won't play until you can rebind keys. Anyone know if that is going to be a thing?

You can rebind keybinds, but there are a couple keys you can't rebind. E is one of them, I forgot what the other one is.
The capslockkey is also changeable :)

I would also like to assign the thumb buttons on my mouse to change the elevation of my conveyor belts. I did not check to see if mouse buttons will work with any other keybind.

I use a Corsair Scimitar, a MMO style mouse but its side buttons are disabled by default and you need to assign in software. I then assign a pair of them to the mouse "Forward" and "Back" buttons testing just now both of them can be assigned and read as "Mouse 3" and "Mouse 4" so I expect extra mouse buttons work to a degree.

asign them to F13-F24 works in most games and you dont have duplicate keys.

yeah well, just tried it and - why do i even wonder - it doesnt work in DSP, says it requires a keyboard key <.<
good thing is, you can have profiles auto-switch when you launch applications.

One issue I did find when keybinds first came out is that some keys couldn't be switched between keyboard and mouse, I couldn't make the camera (middle mouse) a keyboard key) or any of the normal keyboard commands use middle mouse. Try a few other commands as I'm not sure how to set up what you suggest for mine to test it.

Edit: Oh, F keys are just there as an option, DSP doesn't seem to register F16 being pressed at all.

in icue you can pick "function keys"* as rebind action. like i said, works great in most games, but DSP seems to not be most games ^^
just wanted to tell you since those extra F-keys seem to be not very well known, but really nice in games where they work.

*might be named slightly different in english, my native language is german and i cannot figure out how to set icue to english (not that it bothers me)

The E key is hugely important to anyone who uses ESDF instead WASD, or a Dvorak layout. It's pretty much a deal breaker for them. You can't say you have "keybinds" without the E key being changeable.

Replying to this very old thread, but I use the Dvorak Keyboard layout, so I have this exact issue where I can't rebind critical keys, so therefore I just cannot play this game. I really wanted to, but I'm not able to ;-;

Those of us who have physical disabilities rely on changing keybinds to be able to work with alternative input devices. Please let us rebind keymaps.

And, while I'm at it, why is it that "only keys can be assigned" to some binds while others can have mouse buttons assigned? Can we get that changed too?

Can we just have what the overwhelming majority of games have, namely the ability to assign binds to whatever key, button, or combination of them we want?

"We" can change it via mods or third-party keyboard utilities.

Can we just have what the overwhelming majority of games have, namely the ability to assign binds to whatever key, button, or combination of them we want?
