Looking for some kind of task list
I'll keep this short since I realise this is kind of a big request. I played a lot of Factorio and found myself able to just progress by following the science path. I was never great at it, but I managed. DSP is a little harder for me to latch onto in that way for some reason. So I've found myself enjoying playing along side Nilhaus's guides on youtube but I don't want to just outright copy what he's doing. What I think would give me the most enjoyment with DSP is a simple non-detailed task list to go from start to finish. Just something along the lines of:

Step 1: Establish basic mining for iron, copper, Coal, and Stone.
Step 2: Establish production of iron ingot, copper ingot, stone bricks, gears, circuit boards, and magnetic coils.
Step 3: Feed blue science
Step 4: Establish production and stockpile of tesla towers, miners, sorters, and coveryors.
Step 5: Establish graphite production
Step 6: Transition to Thermal power plants
...
Step 84772: Complete Dyson Sphere

My problem is that I'm having trouble knowing what to tackle next as the game opens up with research. I need some guidance, but I still want to have to figure out how to complete the task myself.

I'm not great at Factorio or DSP and I don't really intend to be. But if one of you logistical experts could create such a list. I would be very grateful. It would make my very limited free time spent on DSP much more rewarding.

I've been trying to read into it but not had much success. Again I'm not awesome at these games lol. My last play I managed to get to the end of red science and balanced my crude extraction with refined oil and hydrogen production using the x-ray processing. Then I had a friend tell me that hydrogen is useless outside of red science and that I'd wasted my time trying to make it balanced/sustainable. So I've started over again and would like a little more of a road map. Don't worry though, I enjoy starting over once I gain new insights. I always learn something new in the process.

I've been doing repeated starts, and my todo list looks like this:
1 automate belt production
2 automate wind turbine
3 automate pullers
4 automate Telsa Towers
5 thur (N) automate every building, All of them, research is only done so that I can automate the next building
Jump over to another planet to make a small production and stockpile setup for Titanium and Silicone
N+1 Automate planetary logistic centers
research Interstellar logistic center
Once I've made 3 Interstellar logistic centers I start considering what planet I want to make my primary Production center ( Ideally something with 95%+ building area and just a bit of water) If you enjoy paving over a planet with foundation then replace this step with increasing foundation production.

You'll want to focus on your upgrades (Different tab on the Tech tree page), for the ones you can do without any cubes, do those.

Then you'll want to focus on things such as better belts, sorters, fluid storage, and keep following whatever path seems to be the one of least resistance until you get Interplanetary Logistics set up, then you can start going nuts on harvesting things like Titanium and Silicon.

At that point, you should have a good idea of what to do.

Maybe.

there are a couple of 'paths' i follow for my playthrough.
->cube production (tech) blue->red->yellow->purple->green -> white
->energy: first solar power belt. then tidal locked energy exchange & once dyson sphere is up & running: artificial star as endgame.
->buildings: once i get to planetary & interstellar logistics i begin to fully automate my building production. i establish a cluster of insterstellar logistics to ship my buildings whenever i want wherever i need them. pretty neat that i only need to place down an insterstellar tower to call in my buildings.
->dyson sphere. i completely ignore dyson swarm & solar sails until i can build some dyson sphere frame(small carrier rocket).
as soon as i unlock solar sailing to go to other planets, i establish mining & smelting of silicon & titantium. i usually take a couple trips to get stacks of titantium & silicon to my homeplanet until i get interstellar towers.
silicon is especially important since it's a primary component of solar panels. which are the primary power generators for early & midgame.

Just look at what you need to get next. For example you need a Green cube next. It requires Quantum Chip and Strange Matter. Start working on one of those. And so on until you get to components you already have. You basically progress through the cubes similar to Factorio.

Somewhere in the middle you have to start setting up solar energy and also interplanetary logistics. Those are two side quests you need to tackle.
