Hello Neighbor 2 Alpha 1.5

Hello Neighbor 2 Alpha 1.5

They literally pulled a Ubisoft on us.
So, I am writing this as I am nearing the end of the game and this alpha build looks NOTHING like the announcement trailer. Like, okay, take a moment to watch this trailer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kotJEIahGdQ and then come back to this game.

Now, I wouldn't be treating it so harshly if it was just a regular Alpha build but they LITERALLY glorified the game in the announcement trailer to look gorgeous and even changed some aspects of the house and gameplay to make it look better. And then when you play THIS build, which should technically look the same, it looks and plays so much worse. I won't even talk about how they tweaked some gameplay aspects to look more cinematic and polished when they really aren't, like hiding in the closet and behind the curtains or using the crowbar on wooden planks.

Look, just watch the announcement trailer and then play this build. It speaks volumes on it's own. I really hope this gets changed later on in the development but I still feel kinda disappointed because both the announcement trailer and the actual build should've been the same. It's a shame because the announcement trailer looked so beautiful and looked like such a high step up from the original Hello Neighbor.

Well, then maybe they should AT LEAST point that out. And I don't think it's that hard to replicate these graphics in Unreal 4 to begin with. The graphical downgrade is what confuses me the most.

I do agree in the fact that the two should have been the same, which also confused me, and yeah, as ahno said up above, the entire thing was scripted.

Yeah, some things DID seem too animated to be gameplay but they could've at least kept the graphics, don't you think?

Yeah, if not gameplay, keep the graphics, I guess they maybe changed them for performance reasons.

They dont need to point it out it's that obvious.

Yes your statement is indeed true but I want you to do this. Right now I want you to go on youtube and search hello neighbor announcement trailer and look at the difference in between the first build and the final. HUGE DIFFERENCE. This game is at it's first baby stage of alpha 1. If you rally think about it, do you think after all the updates, all the alphas and all the stages are done and done. Do you really think this game will still be the exact same with the same graphics,
framerates, play style, and glitches by the time 2021 rolls around. Your clearly here because you had hope from the first game and your taking it to the second game. You liked the first game and your gonna like the second game. Just let it take time and let the game settle in with it's new alphas and updates and I can tell your that your not gonna be on this page again after that.

True, it's not like I'm a small indie dev myself or anything like that lol.

Well, you have a very good point but to be fair, I didn't have any hopes from the first game but rather hopes that the second one will be actually good. Hello Neighbor 1 was a huge let-down for me because you almost couldn't beat it without looking at a walkthrough every 5 seconds, so you mostly were just stacking boxes. This current alpha also follows that trope sadly but I still have hope they'll make logical puzzles for the full release.

Speaks for itself, doesn't it?

What does it matter? The trailer is for what will be the released game, right now its a free alpha.
