Why is there a literal dragqueen presenter in the game?
So I tried the demo, and, uh, It's really weird. Capcom, everyone okay over there? I mean it's fine if there is, it's just, well you're going to lose sales because of this, doesn't seem to make much sense.

What are you talking about?

This guy reminded me Ruby Rhod from the movie the Fifth Element :lisr_max_sweatdrop:

Indeed it is a strange choice from capcom.

Yeah lmao great movie. I know, right? Like it's okay with me but can you imagine some kid's mom walking by and seeing that? Seems pretty absurd for Capcom/dev team to do this, pretty risky business wise.

Eternity, the host of SF6, has nothing on Ruby Rhod except for both of them being Trans. Eternity was created in SF6 as a way to "Prestige" the trans public, including its colors representing the colors of the Trans flag. SF6 made it clear in this version of the game, that they chose a political side as a flag, the Woke culture and Political correctness! This can be seen in the game in many ways, such as female characters remodeled in their costumes, hiding parts considered "Erotic" by these movements, in addition to characters that do not identify with a specific gender as in the case of Manon, Marisa, among others. But the strong point where you can see the Woke and Political Correctness culture in SF6 is the World Tour mode, where the appeal to such culture is really strong. Unfortunately, I cannot detail the items in this way due to Steam policies, but a google search on such cultures is enough to identify how it was included in SF6 as "Priority" over any others, making it clear which is the target audience that SF6 wants as main "Customers".

OR, and hear me out on this one, this is again videogames trying to be taken seriously as an e-sport which you can be broadcast on TV, without getting situations like the whole R. Mika with ESPN thing.

Manon: "SHE struts the catwalk of street fighting."

Marisa: "SHE was inspired as a child / SHE seeks glory with a smile."

That's identifying as female, otherwise they'd be using other kinds of pronouns. So I don't know where this whole "they don't identify with a specific gender" comes from.

Translation: If you go deep enough into conspiracy theory rabbit holes, you can prove ANYTHING. Including my personal favorite: the fact that Juri fights barefoot is actually part of a sinister plot from our alien Lizard overlords in order to harvest our skin, because they provide the warmth they can't generate with their own cold-blooded bodies.

I remember watching One Piece as a kid and seeing that Flamingo dude and wondering how weird that guy is. That was 20 years ago. Dudes dressing feminine seems to be a japanese anime thing (plenty of other examples). Has nothing to do with woke culture whatsoever.
You tried.

Eternity was NEVER stated as trans so far so you are making stuff up based on assuming. And just cause someone has some blue, pink, and white does not mean they are trans dude as you shouldn't be applying colors to sexuality stuff. So no, until Capcom says something, eternity is not trans right now.

They think by adding NPC's like the drag queen presenter they will get more people to buy the game personally I don't really care about the drag queen presenter but I have seen this type of strategy before many times it makes them look good but in fact they are only doing this to make more money

this strategy has never proven to be a factor that correlated positively to sales in the past.

I think most simply don't care, and those who do are among some who lost interest in the game as a result.

SF6 will be the most successful SF game Capcom has ever made, but it will be that in spite of the potential losses from this massive risk they took.
XGear May 15, 2023 @ 5:27pm
I think it's totally improbable that Capcom was inspired by Ruby Rhod because the game is for the current generation aka Gen-Z, which for the most part clearly barely know the movies of the 90s. I believe that the character is a great tribute to players who identify with the trans culture or simply an "Inclusion" form made by Capcom to complete the "Checklist" of inclusion requirements made to this company for the release of the game.

I disagree with this part, because SF6 is actually trying to unite the generations with references they all would recognize.

Like Kimberly using a cassette player.

I believe this is also true though
