hahahahahahhaa
By diamond rank, everyone else will have that level of execution on classic mode anyway.
And thus, if you're getting blown up by modern users there, your neutral game and fundamentals must be lacking.
I have nothing more to add, except:
Meme Ken: ALL MY APES GONE, RYU! :o
Jump straight to Ranked. It'll consistently put you with people of comparable skill.
Also, your rank can jump up stupid fast if you're better than that rank level, so you won't be "stuck" in a low rank if you skills improve.
Seriously, I've only been playing Ranked very occasionally and I've shot up to Bronze very quickly because of two winstreaks.
now it feels like i got a target on my back for higher lvls to farm me ...
Then you have to stop looking for excuses when you lose. Fighting game players have a difficult pill to swallow and that's that when you lose, it's almost entirely your own fault. There's no teammate in mid to blame for not ganking, it's you and you alone.
It's easy when you're new to fighting games just to start blaming your losses on "spammy moves" or in this case modern controls but it just simply isn't the reason you're losing and you need to accept that in order to progress and get better.
Every player has a style of playing, do they shoryuken every time you knock them down? Then walk close to them, knowing they're going to do it and then block as they get up. Boom, they're left wide open for a punish. Does a player jump too much? Just start sitting back, anti-airing and let them defeat themselves.
And just as a final tip, winning isn't the be all and end all of fighting games. It feels good to win but if you use every loss as a lesson then you'll find yourself better equipped to win later on :)
Good luck!
See, I had that mindset before...
But on release, I decided "why not jump into ranked, I don't REALLY care about my rank"... And I've found that the ranked experience has mostly been really REALLY good for learning how to get good.
It places you consistently with people who are your skill level, it shows you your progress via league points, etc etc. AND even if you're not good NOW, it won't stop you from leaving that rank later.
AND it doesn't let Diamond level players jump you in the hub and destroy you.
All in all, it's the best option for learning the game against other players, outside of the Newbie-only Battle Hub Servers.
(Besides, I don't like the hub much at all. If I wanna play online, I wanna just get in, fight a whole lot of people, and then peace out. The entire cabinet experience just makes that process longer).
Casual = open season
Ranked is the best method to get better because you'll be paired with people on your level
Also im not a huge fan of no downranking in gold and below which i feel is kinda broken.
Other than that i LOVE ranked because of all the reasons you mentioned. Its a great place to learn and not get bullied and makes the games feel fun when even.
