Where can i actually learn classic controls as a new player?
i tried to get used to classic controls for a while now, but i cant improve, i either get spammed down in ranked, ore eaten alive in casual by abolute monsters. cpus dont help either, they are braindead ore living gods. so what can one do?

learn your pokes

your good normals

learn the good buttons of the char before learning combos

only learn a simple and bread and butter combo at first

try to land it once in a real match

don't focus on winning

focus on improving

World Tour mode is actually designed to teach you Street Fighter fundamentals.

To learn how to do classic special moves, super arts etc. look up the command list in the training room. Turn on the command inputs to show you what inputs you're actually pressing and not what you just think you're pressing. Try turning on the negative edge option in the controls menu, you might find it slightly more forgiving for your inputs.

Focus on one special move at a time, e.g. shoryuken. Practice the input chain slowly first to get a feel for the stick motions and timing of button press, then speed it up when you feel comfortable to actually start performing the move.
Like with real martial arts you need to 'groove in' good form into muscle memory.
Do a set of 10 then have a break. At first, you might pull the move off only once in your 10 rep set. Take a break, play vs CPU or watch a training video, then go again. Maybe do 3 to 5 sets in a session. After a few days or even weeks you'll find you'll be getting more successful reps in your 10 rep sets. Keep going until you can do 10 reps without missing an input. Then it's time to learn a new move.

Once you can comfortably pull off a new move in the training room, fight vs CPU at a low level and aim to land as many of the moves you've just learned to take the win, i.e. you learn to use it under pressure. When you get several wins vs different opponents, increase the CPU skill level and go again.

Do this for all your basic special moves, basic combos, super arts and OD moves.

Watch the recommended videos in the replays section, they'll be replays of others around your level. Try to see their mistakes and imagine how you'd counter them. Note their successes and think how you could add it to your own play.

Good luck! This game is brutal sometimes, but it feels extremely rewarding whenever you manage to apply something you learned in an actual match. Just stick with it and you’ll do great!

I would imagine that your main problem at this stage is maybe execution. I am in a similar situation. Like I played some fighting games before with a stick but never too heavily. So quite a lot of my inputs come out sloppy and won't execute what I want it to. Even just the basics sometimes.

So what I am trying to do is just play for practice and just focus on the basics, blocking, executing my basic attacks, when to use specials etc. Once I got that tight I will try to learn a few combos, there is no point till then.

World tour, the combo guides and practice mode are all great ways to learn.

But nothing teaches as quick as psychological trauma so I vote jump into ranked and embrace the agony.

If you don't regret something was it really ever worth doing?

Just question of time to learn all moveset, go to the training room and watch all moveset list on setting and activate input.
The classic controls are the best option because if you decide to play other Street Fighters, for example 4 or 5, you will be more familiar than the simplified controls in SF 6.
You can also practice against other players in unranked matches and you have all the moves list according to the chosen character in the vs CPU tutorial section.
Sometimes a problem is remembering all the moves, for example I created a screenshot with the entire list of moves and I keep it open on the second screen and which I also use to practice.

This is what you don't understand
YOU ARE NOT LOSING BECAUSE OF THE CONTROLS

You are losing because you don't block when you are suppose to block
you don't punish when you are suppose to punish

you attack in patterns that are easily predictable, you think more than one move ahead

learning the controls is something you can teach yourself IN TRAINING MODE, that's what it's for.

The controls are less of your problem, you can do an 18 hit combo in training mode you WILL STILL GET BODIED in rank, because you don't know the match ups, you don't know how to play, only way to learn is to keep getting butt kicked until you ADAPT

This is partially false, i mean you can lose a match for misinputs or for dropping a combo, especially in these kind of games where you have forced 50/50 and one error cost you a whole round.

Thank you for this, I hope the truth gets through to people.

yes, ive never flew a plain before, but i got a manual. i did the carackter and combotrials multiple times, the problem is the translation of these loose strings, that sometimes just dont work int matches with actual people. dry practice gets you only so far and against people not very
