This game is just an embarrassment

I'm sorry, but I just don't understand how this game can be considered good in any way.

Let's start with the World Tour. Definitely goes on the list of worst "games" I've ever played in my entire life. PS2 graphics, pathetic AI, non-existent story, dead, laggy open world. How could they spend so much money and time on something so inherently bad? I thought Mortal Kombat's story mode was bad, simply because it was a 4h cutscene, until I played this thing. A very, very boring, grindy waste of time to unlock outfits for hyper-sexualized characters. I prefer MK's cinematic cutscenes any day of the week.

Then, there's Battle Hub. I found it so funny that this "mode", so promoted in the game's Marketing, is completely useless. Why in the seven hells would I subject myself to wasting time on this mode, with the horrible connection this game has, when I can just play casual and ranked matches through Fighting Ground? To spam emotes? Just pathetic.

Finally, there's the real mode where the game is, Fighting Ground. 2/3 of the game budget wasted on the other 2 modes, but whatever. First, there's the arcade mode, which is useless if you don't subject yourself to the torture of grinding the World Tour, because the characters' stories are directly related to WT. Besides that, the only things you unlock playing this mode are "background arts" of characters that I, with 40 hours of play, still don't know where they are, LMAO.

Then, there are the complementary tabs, like like combo training and so on. Normal FG stuff, so no praises here.

But now let's talk about the gameplay. Firstly, charge characters still exist. How? How could anyone think that making you hold the back button for 2/3 of a second to unleash a special is fun? Who was the alien that created this absolute horrendous game design? Who thinks that this mechanic add anything good to your game?

Then we have command throw characters, like Manon and Zangief. I will definitely want to play with a character that is a rock, but if I do a 360 command (which is also very easy to do), I will take 40% of the opponent's life. This DEFINITELY is fun for both me and my adversary.

Then finally, we have the normal characters, like Ken and Ryu (I'm pretending that characters like Dhalsim and Blanka don't exist because literally no one in the world plays with these jokes of a characters who just took up space for other better characters). But I can't find enjoyment in playing with Ken and Ryu, because this is the most footsies game I've ever played, and rewards SOLELY reaction, not action, like increased damage on punishments, parrys, and DI.

So all your matches will be you and your opponent walking around waiting to see who misses first. I'm already platinum literally playing back and waiting for the opponent to miss for me to punish. How can this be fun????

I really wish I could refund this garbage, but I've wasted too much time playing it, and I even bought a Hitbox back in may because I was expecting the best fighting game imaginable. What did I get? A spit in the face from Capcom. Thanks. I'm going to wait for Mortal Kombat 1 because, even with problems, there I'll be able to play like a human being and be rewarded for it.

I don't understand why people say this game has bad graphics. The graphics looks cool to me, the only downside is that some characters have a terrible design and or too much stereotypization and other are most successful.
The worst thing is the naive gameplay, the terrible balancement and the single player is just terrible. Maybe some patches will resolve the problems.
I don't understand the hate vs Blanka, it's one of the character gaining a lot from the new graphic engine but people wanna play cool muscular beautiful boys of girls, the typical 90's mentality...
And Jesus if this game had only ryu and ken, i would prefer to play stick fighters...

World Tour is actually a pretty enjoyable adventure based gamemode with rpg influences.
Only the storyline is pretty as.s and way too predictable. But thankfully you can skip the dialogue.

The only issue I have with World Tour is, that they force you to play it for at least 6-8 hours in order to unlock alternate costumes, which is bs.

But I kind of agree on the "wasting resources" part, I rather had more og characters, faster and more relevant releases of dlc characters and no World Tour than only 18 characters in the starting roster (only 11 og) and World Tour .
