Slow motion fix for Nvidia GPUs (Possibly only laptop?)
Like most of you, I had insane slow motion on my gameplay. This not only happened in Street Fighter but also in Dead by Daylight as well. I added a FPS counter and noticed I was getting 40 FPS in both SF6 and DBD. Although SF6 ran in slow motion while DBD was more bearable. I tried clean installations of the drivers, messing with settings, etc. The only thing that seemed to work was rolling back to the Game Ready driver previous to the 5/30 release. I noticed a new driver came out so I decided again to do a clean install. Same issue arose, I knew it had to be some kind of setting that was causing an issue.

Within the GeForce Experience settings, there is an app called "Whisper Mode 2.0" hence why this is titled for Laptops because I'm unsure if this setting is available on Desktop, sadly I'm not home to check my desktop computer. This setting will cap your FPS to reduce fan noise and has all sorts of settings. After toggling it off, everything is running smoothly. I was even getting 40 FPS caps in League of Legends which obviously is not nearly as demanding of a game as SF6 is.

To give some context of my specs, I have a 2023 Legion 7i Pro with a 4090 in it. I hope this helps some people solve the issue and please let me know if this setting or something equivalent to it lies within GeForce Experience for Desktops as well. Happy Gaming!

try set the Shader to "LOW" in graphics setting, let me know if this helps.

I have heard compiling shaders helps

Both of the above suggestions didn’t work for me previously but what I described did.

Laptop Alienware M18, i9 13900, RTX 4080: I did not have any problem with slow motion until I upgraded the Nvidia driver ( 537.34 ). After that, in fighting games, I got 40 fps no matter what settings I used. It took me a while, but I found out that the Whisper mode is indeed the one that limit the FPS to 40, which is problematic for fighting game.

The Whisper mode seems to be linked somehow with the laptop performance application (AWCC in my case). I cannot get to the Whisper mode settings of the Nvidia GFE (GeForceExperience) as long as I don't put the power scheme to Silent in AWCC. Then, I see the max FPS to set for Whiper mode. I don't know how I did it, but I was also able to see the max FPS for whisper mode in the nvidia control panel (I could modify it there also). Setting the max FPS to 60, corrected the problem in SF6, as well as in MK1.

I finally decided to remove nvidia GFE, since I don't use any of the stuff it offers, and that seem to have corrected my problem altogether.

Anyone has a better solution?
