Why didn't these clowns just have him be in the game?
How is having a staple of a game or expecting that trolling?
Also popular character for DLC = $$$
So they wanted to give it time before inevitably bringing him back
He died? Well if this is on a timeline why are all the young School Girls still in school, shouldn't they be grown up and mom's by now thereby taking them out of the game to focus on their families?
The SF2 Bison is, was, and always will be the most intimidating SF boss. The fat Bison was meh. Too Anime.
I don't like that silly wait and get cash crap. Rubes think it's cool to not have everything immediately available in the game by playing it, and for some reason older games made a lot of money and had all the characters in it.
Online mandatory gameplay is another thing I can't take. It's terrible.
You'd think in 2024, Capcom would make good products and would have learned their lesson with their string of bad money losing games until they got scared and made a good game, Resident Evil 2 Remake. (A perfect game which saved Capcom imo.)
Then they got silly again and starting disrespecting their games and characters.
Maybe I'm wrong, but that's how I see it.
Nowadays, game development costs have significantly increased. Creating new characters is not cheap, and they can't be added for free. Developers need to find ways to recoup their investment by generating revenue from the it somehow.
Street Fighter 2 had 8 Characters
Super Street Fighter 2 had 12
Street Fighter Alpha 2 had 18 Characters.
Street Fighter Alpha 3 had 39 Characters.
Capcom Vs SNK 2 had 48 Characters.
What happened?
Like I said: the cost of making a game is more expensive than before.
Designing new models, creating new moves to fit the new mechanics in the game, and developing it are not free.
Hiring a voice actor for the character is not free.
Hiring a composer for the character's theme is not free.
CVS2, most of the Capcom side are just reused sprites so it was easier to develop.
Also spoken like someone that didn't play SFV or they'd know that even there Sakura had moved on from being a high school student to someone with a job.
Also I'd dare argue that the producer and director of this game are bigger SF fans than you've ever been given the knowledge gaps. (And definitely bigger fans than Ono ever was, if we're going to be lamenting a lack of vision)
