Most used characters?

What are the most used characters? I only see Ken, Cammy and some others...my Blanka is pretty alone.

Honda? Dhalsim? Maybe met once or twice.

Ken seems to be the most used character, at least from my experience... drive impact -> dragon punch with meter -> drive impact ... Kens spending the meter in some seconds.

Meanwhile, I play mostly at grappler o'clock on the west coast of the US. Zangief was my third most played match up from Plat 3 to Diamond 4, and Manon suddenly started appearing at Diamond 4 as well. Akuma eventually pulled ahead of Gief, so Gief is only my 4th most played ranked match up now as JP. If I sort by all characters, Gief is still right behind Ken and Ryu.

Region and time of day affect the experience so in interesting ways.

I never really understood how you can end up with a mindset of "People like this character and that makes me livid"

Most people never even get around to playing all characters as is, so what does it even matter if not all characters appeal to you in particular?

I never cared for Akuma but you don't see me stomping up and down the street grumbling about him and his enduring popularity ensuring his return in every game. He has his place within the series and his fandom and that's fine.

And so Lily similarly has her fans, they might not be as plentiful but they're valid. And maybe we'll see her casually Messatsu someone too next game.

The problem is there are twenty something characters and I don't wanna fight the same 3 characters that are clones of each other for 500+ hours when everything else about the game is really good. If I wanted to only fight shotos I'd play sf1.
