yeah you'll kiss and makeup eventually
By pushing you up in ranked like you're tied to a dirigible, And having floors you can't fall down through, even if you went 1k losses in a row.
And then, opponents start to play semi-adequately. While you absolutely are not. It's stupid.
Dynamic controls for 'no care, party mode' playing? Nope, denied. (I still don't understand, why not)
You might argue, that Ranked mode is for playing your best. Casual and V-rival is where it's at? True.
But once again, what's the point? You'll play like that 3-5 hours, maybe enjoy it, sure. Then you stop, and either play it more competitively, or leave to greener pastures. Modern fighting games are, fortunately or unfortunately, made with top-level play in mind. SF6 kind of colapses if you don't do combos, or drive rush. But still, Smash and Brawlhalla are popular enough. Or funny enough, I found that you can get into older fighting games that all the 'sweatlords' have already abandoned, and those have the 'anything goes' playerbase.
😂 😂 😂
If people want to do that, then fine, it’s their right, but when too many people do that, which they currently do, then it makes the skill ceiling of the game skyrocket and makes fighting games ultra-competitive and un-fun for everybody. This applies to any online game. Over-optimization and obsession with meta ruins multiplayer games.
If having that opinion makes me a whiny scrub, then consider me a proud whiny scrub. :)
Just because the arcade you went to had a competitive scene, it doesn’t mean every arcade on the planet did or does, lol.
Again, I never said this. What I’m saying is totally different. You’re not that good with reading comprehension, are you. Or you’re just one of those, “So you’re saying….” kinds of people who only know how to strawman.
Debating ppl like you is a waste. I’ll end this by saying, git gud at talking to other ppl and accepting that ppl have different viewpoints about things and won’t always agree with you. Ppl aren’t wrong and you’re right because you disagree with them. That’s what hours and hours studying frame data and not having any meaningful social interaction does. Listening to my posts might actually do you a lot of good.
Go ahead, I’m going to give you the last word.
Frame data really became a bigger deal when combos became part of the design, so like SF2. The devs didn't intend it in World Warriors but built it into the game by SSF2.
I didn't realize what it was when I was a kid but I'd have absolutely learned about it if I were aware of it then. Fighting games are more about knowledge than anything else.
