Ranked Smurfs, Please, F*** Off
Look, I get it. You ruined the game for yourself, but it's totally your fault. Some of us told you to stop taking the game so seriously and studying frame data, but you insulted us, calling us unskilled scrubs, and did it anyway, now you want to smurf and bully less-skilled players like me.

I busted my ass all week at work and just want to sit down and play against players at my skill level in Ranked mode, but you higher-ranked sweats have infiltrated it! Can we scrubs please enjoy the game, too? I didn't play fighting games consistently since SFIII Third Strike every day of my existence. Can you all please chill tf out????

Literally every single Mai is a Smurf with probably every character on Master except that one.
I guess you gotta learn to play and stand up to the bullies?

Yet I challenged you multiple times before and you roached out each time. I’m still awake and willing. Wanna get it on, my precious??

just blacklist them. Honestly, a Master automatically should start in Diamond 4 and get 75 points per win, that would make it better for everyone in ranked.
Or a system similar to Tekken's, If you get a character to Master, every other one should be leveled up to at least Diamond or Platinum idk what is after Gold

There's a system that automatically rank your unranked ones into Diamond 1 least
But they might have few characters that was ranked lower before they got one master ranked character
That's the situation

Yes there're smurferss wasting time and gatekeeping the rank matches which is awful
Just block them

If they legit were smurfs winstreaks would propel them out of your rank before long, SF6 is a terrible game to smurf in because the game actively nudges you towards Platinum if you are even remotely decent at the game. And from there you can still reach the next rank even if you have a winrate as low as 45% (and realistically lower because beating opponents with considerable more LP than you gives you more than 50 per win)

As was pointed out, there is not a single player with characters in Master who has a Mai below Diamond because D1 is the lowest you can calibrate in once you've hit Master with anyone.
In the eyes of those smurfing bullies, we are scrubs. Likewise, in the eyes of top players, they are also scrubs. And there are so many of these scrubs that my block list is completely full...
Gotta love the per character instead of overall ranking system

Global ranks isn't really what you want if you actively want to encourage your player base to bounce around between characters rather than lock into a single character for the game's life because nobody wants to tank their rank while getting used to a new character.

if rank is all they're preocupied for they can just play with their new characters on casual till they think they're good enough to go on ranked. Because let's be honest, someone comfortable with all the mechanics will steamroll against anyone not too used to it yet no matter the character they are using, the whole purpose of same skill level matchmaking thanks to ranks is just going out of the window with the current system

Sure, but again, there are plenty of systems in place to ensure a good experience for all. You can't calibrate lower than a rank below your highest ranked character. So a Master literally cannot be bullying newcomers down in Gold with Mai. Even in the worst case scenario someone might have gotten all their characters calibrated on launch day, and are only now returning to these characters, well, winstreaks will mean that they'll be in Platinum before long.

The only thing they could really do here is just automatically rank up characters so they're also no more than a rank below the highest ranked character (but I'd wager money you'd then see folks complaining about people getting unearned rank-ups on their secondary characters), but ultimately for game health character ranks are better than a singular player rank.

as far as i understand this just happens with every new character, i felt this way when ed came out, high plat/diamond players tryin a new character getting matched up with my low gold ass (tho i climbed since then)

but i dont see it as that much of an issue, winstreaks will propel them back up where they belong within a week at most and you can enjoy mashing again

I def don’t blindly mash buttons when I play.
