Juri. And not in a good way.

I'd say Mai.
She has air-cancels
Fan stun into jump in all in one combo type stuff which is wild
A super based install that require meter building and careful management to get the most value out of it.

Juri has easy access to her installs, and generally a simpler gameplan compared to what Mai is trying to do.

Who would you consider higher tier? I am guessing Mai is the higher tier character since she has more tools?

That's no thing to ask 24 hours after her release. Wait for a few major tournaments that feature her first, and ultimately, at our skill level, tier lists don't really matter. With phase 6 over the stats have once again shown that all characters had at least 10 players in Legend, even the bottom tier ones, and Juri was the fifth most represented character in Legend so I'm not sure what more you want out of her.

Way too early to say for certain, but if you held me at gunpoint I'd say Juri is stronger because the things that make her gameplan easier make her overall more consistent.

Mai wants to burn meter to get stocks to get her gameplan rolling, whereas Juri just gets hers and plays. Mai can do a lot with those stocks, but she has to burn meter for it, and that's only for her to get started. She'll likely be considered strong, but not as good as some of the current top tiers. Could be wrong, but I imagine that'll be the general consensus in a few weeks.

Doesnt Juri have to get stocks to get strong as well? And what makes Juri's gameplan simpler than Mai's? Her level 2 stuff looks complicated NGL.

You gotta relax about this waifu rivalry, Joey. Juri's fine. She's the sole survivor of SF4. Mai won't be back and Juri isn't going anywhere. Surely that's enough waifu privilege without getting jealous of Mai's brief moment in the spotlight.

Juri gets stocks by doing Qtc kick, and it's fast enough she can install in neutral with little worry.
Mai only gets stocks by burning level 1 super, and if she doesn't use it in a combo, then she'll get massively punished for going for the install. On top of burning a bar of meter to get stocks.
Juri has easy access to her installs is what I'm talking about with her being more consistent.
If Mai doesn't have meter, she can't install, and when she does install, she might not have any meter left. There's more of a balancing act that she can mess up or be put in an awkward position.

You have clearly never played Juri in your life. Please stop providing bad information.

Not sure who this Joey is. My name isn't Joey. Not IRL, nor have I ever gone by that moniker in any game, forum, etc. GASP, it's almost as if multiple people share the same opinion that Juri indeed SUCKS and is in desperate need of buffs! The scandal! It's almost like...your opinion may not be the only valid one in the world!

That dude wasn't talking to you, the OP is literally named "Joey".

I actually wouldn't be surprised if Capcom and SNK just merge at some point now with all the constant cross-overs the two do in their mainline games. :balloonicorn:

Not true. My name is literally "Joey Central"
From what I see, I think Mai might be easier because she has better fireballs than Juri. I feel Juri is at a disadvantage when it comes to characters with fireballs whereas Mai could outzone just about anyone and has very good mixups.

I am definitely thinking she is the best to learn. Thanks for the discussion guys, but I think I made up my mind.
Absolutely based. Didn't fall for the gaslighting and upselling.
