Legend needs to be broken up into regions
It’s incredibly hard to get into legend unless you’re in Japan because they have the highest population of top players
Seeing any non Japanese player in legend near the end of season is rare
Japan, USA seem relatively chill, third spot is Europe. Master there is very chill and I can see skill difference when I play against them in Battle Hub. Middle East almost impossible to hit Legend LOL.
Either that, or simply remove region-locks since the netcode is good. People can then filter by connection status.
Edit: Yeah, number of players + MR disparity, which both seems proportionally connected.
I doubt Japanese players would want to play with westerners because of lag and especially when their region is already the most competitive
It’s funny when Punk goes to Japan he has got the no.1 MR spot a few times with Cammy but it’s basically impossible for him to do it in America
They need to have a top 500 legend rank for each region, otherwise ‘legend’ rank feels redundant
You're right they probably wouldn't.. Europe/USA/Others might though, or so I hope..
I hope they do it based on region because yeah it is stupid. I would reduce it from top 500 to top 100 or so though, maybe?
Top 100 per region would work. Whatever they do they need to make it region based.
The top Japanese players right now are sitting on around 2.4K MR, the top western players are struggling to get over 2.1K MR, system is flawed and needs to change to make legend feel like a fair and just achievement
Probably for the same reason Master rank has been a disaster with huge skill differences between high and low masters. The MR system was just a bandaid, it should have been broken up into more ranks a long time ago
It clearly takes them forever to spot the flaws with the system. Maybe in a years time they’ll realise the flaw in the legend rank, who knows
People like me, who aren’t that good, just competent, get to master and just drop MR, I usually sit between 1.3-1.4k. It makes us feel inadequate like we’re not worthy of the ‘master’ rank and a lot of people get discouraged and quit
So many times I just wanted to go back to diamond because I felt out of my depth, so with this new system I won’t feel so bad about feeling like a fraudulent ‘master’, lol
Suddenly thrown into the pit of veterans and even "pros". I improved now but like I said I almost did quit, and I am sure MANY do quit as I almost never felt that way before.
Changes to Master rank will hopefully satisfy “Master is for scrubs now” crowd by adding new titles attached to the MR rating.
I am not sure how I feel about Master specific cosmetics - eh, I prefer when cosmetics stay as character expression rather than a status symbol. Still, nothing I am too upset about, unless they lock something I really want behind a skill ceiling beyond my reach.
edit. Oh, and easier access to replay post match is very, very welcome.
Apparently, you can be a master with as low as 36,57% winrate too like this loser I know.
Good thing they are adding more ranks. Gives people more incentive to grind.
